Stamping with the STARS #330: From My Heart Foil Tin

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Inspiration Hop #DOswts330. Today we're showcasing a fun Valentine Treat Inspiration!

For today's Valentine Treat Packaging project, I knew exactly what I'd be creating with...the new Heart Foil Tins!

So I pulled out some products from the From My Heart Product Suite and started playing around. It didn't take long for this super cute Heart Foil Tin to come together. Here's what you need...

How'd She DO That? Heart Foil Tin:

Stamps: Heartfelt Bundle (with Heart Punch Pack - not just 1 punch, but TWO punches!)
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (scraps for Scallop Heart Punch, and Classic Label Punch)
- From My Heart Designer Series Paper (for Heart Punch, (6) 1" x 3" pieces for candy wraps)
- Heart Doilies
Ink: Real Red
Other: Heart Foil Tins, Real Red 3/8" Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Classic Label Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

DOstamping Tips:

For the Heart Foil Tin:
- Adhere white scallop heart to Heart Doily. Then add a couple strips of Snail Adhesive to adhere folded ribbon to.
- Stamp sentiment on scrap and cut out with Classic Label punch (positioning sentiment on the left). Adhere under DSP heart punch out (several patterns of hearts to choose from that will match the punch!).
- Adhere DSP heart/sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Tie a bow in twine and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.
For Candy Wrap: wrap 1" x 3" piece of DSP around Hershey Nuggets and secure with Mini Glue Dots (6 fit nicely in the tin)

I was giddy when I stood back and gave a look at the completed Heart Foil Tin, for two reasons:

It turned out so stinkin' cute!
It came together very quickly!
Also - when I showed it to my husband, he asked where I got that from. I said, "I made it". I was horrified that he thought I bought it! But also flattered that he thought it looked that good!

I had so much fun playing with this month's kit. See below for three easy Paper Pumpkin Winter Gifts alternate projects...

Birdhouse Ornament

With last month's Paper Pumpkin kit, the envelopes had a printed wood pattern. The flap reminded me of a roof. So, I was excited to find a large bird die in this month's kit and created a fun birdhouse ornament.

DOstamping Tips:

Envelope paper (from October's Paper Pumpkin kit): 3" x 3-1/2", plus flap for roof (cut off adhesive edges), then trim down to about 2" tall.
Cut large hole in center of rectangle piece. I used 1-7/8" Stitched Shape Circle, but a 2" Circle Punch could work too.
Poppy Parade: adhere 1/2" strips to "rooftop", trim as needed. Then adhere roof to rectangle piece.
Early Espresso: 2-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece to back of birdhouse. Trim off roof edges.
Decorate as desired

Winter Gifts Sled Card

This card couldn't be easier to make. Adhere die cuts to 4" x 5-1/4" white panel and then to 4-1/4" x 11" folded Paper Parade card base. The small bird die cut and sentiment are from last month's Winter Woods Paper Pumpkin kit (stamped with Early Espresso).

Deer Snowflake Card

This turned out to be one of my favorite alternates this month. The design came together quickly and was exactly what I had in mind (that doesn't always happen - lol).

DOstamping Tips:

Adhere 4" x 5-1/4" (October Winter Woods envelope paper) to 11" x 4-1/4" folded Whisper White Thick cardstock
Cut a 2-3/8" Stitched Shape circle from center of tag. Adhere to a 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock.
Sentiment is from last month's Winter Woods Paper Pumpkin kit (stamped with Real Red).
Decorate as desired.

Stamping with the STARS #327: Wrapped in Plaid Fun Fold Ornament

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Inspiration Hop #DOswts327. Today we're showcasing a non-card ideas!

There's so many non-card ideas to choose from. But at this time of year, I thought of ornaments or packaging, and landed on a Folded Star Ornament. I made one of these easy ornaments 8 years ago (oh my). Now is a good time to "bring it back"

I pulled out the Wrapped in Plaid Suite of products for my ornament.

How'd She DO That? Folded Star Ornament:

Stamps: Perfectly Plaid
Paper:
- Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (five 3"x 3" pieces)
- Shaded Spruce or Cherry Cobbler (1-1/2" square)
- Whisper White (scrap for Classic Label Punch)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Other: Bone Folder, Classic Label Punch, Shaded Spruce /Gold 3/8" Striped Ribbon, Nature's Twine, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Jingle Bells, SNAIL

I made two ornament, using two different ribbon/twines. I like the look of the Shaded Spruce/Gold ribbon, but preferred working with the Nature's Twine, as it was easier to thread through the Jingle Bell.

DOstamping Tips:

Fold each 3" DSP square in half. Then open and fold in half the other direction. Then open and flip over...fold corner to corner. Use Bone folder to crease folds.
Once folded, it should naturally want to fold down into a "squash" fold...to a 1-1/2" square.
Adhere folded squares together (keeping them folded and making sure the "open" corner match up.
When the 5 squares are adhere, adhere a piece of twine or ribbon onto each each- approx 10" each. The "ends" of the twine should come outwards from the "open" corners.
Cover over the ends/twine with the 1-1/2" squares.
Thread on Jingle Bell through both pieces of ribbon/twine (one piece at a twine). Then tie the twine together with an overhand knot. Pull down the bell to close the ornament.
Stamp/punch out sentiment and tie onto one of the pieces of ribbon with Whisper White Baker's Twine.
To open - pull bell out toward the knot. Flip open the folded star and match ends up. Then pull bell back down to the ornament.

The Folded Star Ornament is a great TV project. Just put on your favorite Netflix show (we're watching The Crown right now) and settle in for some crafting and TV fun!

Last of my Bone Appetit Paper Pumpkin kit alternative samples!

Here's the last of my Bone Appetit Paper Pumpkin alternative samples. Plus a couple more from my fabulous DOstamperSTARS team.

This Bone Appetit eye-catching Trick or Treat/skull border was not only fun to stamp, but it was really easy to create.

Just stamp the bottom row of sentiments first with Pumpkin Pie ink, filling in with the skulls with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then repeat on top.

The Bone Appetit Pencil Holder also came together quickly and is a great way to use the Bone Appetit kit for non-candy treats!

Trim off the top/bottom of one of the treat boxes.
Cut the 4 "middle" panels into two panels each (you'll get two holders from one box).
Fold in half around pencils and staple shut. Decorate as desired.

Here's two more ideas from the STARS:

I thought it was clever the way Bernadette used the negative area from the label dies and backed it with black cardstock.

The die cut skeleton, spider webs and foil labels from the Bone Appetit kit are a great way to decorate the new Coffin Boxes!

April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit: More Alternate Sentimental Rose Ideas

Have you seen the Sentimental Rose April Paper Pumpkin Kit?

This Distinktive kit showcases a beautiful flower image and the perfect variety of greetings for upcoming occasions.

Coordinating Stampin’ Up! colors: Gray Granite, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Basic Black

The Sentimental Rose Paper Pumpkin kit is gorgeous and was fun to play around with. I have several ideas to share with you today. Check them out below...

I'm starting off with a couple of quick and cute cards using only the products that come with the kit.

How'd She DO That? Happy Birthday :

Trim 1" off from front edge of So Saffron card base. (save for "Thinking of You" card below)
On 4-1/4" x 3" card front layer (from kit), score 1-1/2" in from the "less colored" end.
On larger end, stamp flowers/leaves over color splotches.
Turn card base around so it opens from the left. Adhere fold-over piece to the back of the card base & decorate.

How'd She DO That? Thinking of You:

Adhere 1" x 5" So Saffron piece about 1-1/4" from bottom edge of "dotted" card base (from previous card).
Trim 5" x 2-3/4" card front layer (from kit) in half at 1-3/8" (you'll have two 1-3/8" x 5" strips). Cut one strip to 4-1/8" in length.
Stamp flowers/leaves as desired. Cut into three 1-3/8" squares. Adhere squares to card using dimensionals, & decorate

How'd She DO That? 9-Square card:

Trim envelopes to reveal pattern paper. Cut (3) 1" squares from each pattern - total 9 squares.
Arrange squares on 3-1/4" Whisper White square, then adhere down. (TIP: Start in lower right corner, then lower left corner, then the space in between them...etc) Adhere completed panel to 3-1/2" Mint Macaron Square.
Stamp sentiment on label from kit with Mint Macaron ink. Mat with Calypso Coral 1-3/8 Scallop Circle.
Before adhering everything to So Saffron 11" x 4-1/4" card base with dimensionals, arrange pieces to eyeball where to stamp the leaves. (which are stamped off first). Adhere everything down in place.
Adhere twine bow (from Nature's Twine) with glue dot. Adhere enamel dot.

Don't discard the blue tissue paper that comes in your Paper Pumpkin box. Make in into flowers using the 4-Petal Punch.

Create TWO flowers: 1 for card, 1 for box.

Fold tissue paper over several times and flatten, checking to make sure it can fit into the punch the 4-Petal Punch.
Use punch to cut out several flowers at once. (I punched the folded tissue paper 3- times to get enough flower shapes to create (2) flowers.)
Stack them up randomly. Use the "Take your Pick" tool with paper piercing tip and Stampin' Pierce Mat to push through all the flower layers to create a hole for a Metallic Brad.
Once secure, scrunch up the layers of flower. May take several "scrunches".
Punch an extra flower from corrugated element piece, to use as the leaves. Adhere to bottom of tissue paper flower with glue dots

How'd She DO That? Flower card:

Stamp flower image with Pool Party ink on "text" card base (from kit)
Adhere scrunch flower with glue dots to Blushing Bride cardstock cut with Story Label Punch. then to card with dimensionals.
Add decorative touches with Silver Mini Sequin Trim and Pool Party/Silver Baker's Twine.

How'd She DO That? Flower Box:

Fold & fill Clear Tiny Treat Box.
Wrap with Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon, tie in a knot. Attach flower to ribbon, using the brad prongs wrapped around the ribbon knot.
Add decorative touches with Silver Mini Sequin Trim and Pool Party/Silver Baker's Twine and stamped tag.

And last, but not least, a card that my grandson Max (12) made for his mom. He really wanted to use the flower/leave images and fussy cut them out. For the flower, he inked the stamp with Flirty Flamingo and then used a Coral Calypso Stampin' Write Marker to color in the center area of the flower before stamping (I guess my stamping is rubbing off on him!). The design is completely his own and I'm so proud of him.

Nine Lives OnStage Team Gifts & Clearance Rack Refresh

Speaking of the Clearance Rack...today I'm sharing a fun little gift I made for my DOstamperSTARS Team Members who attended OnStage. It uses the adorable Nine Lives Stamp Set and the Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie from the Clearance Rack (a great product to have around for gift packaging).

For each Stampin' Up! event, I try to do something special for my team. This year, I found these cute Suction Cup Cat Phone Stands (see below) that I thought would be fun to package up using the Nine Lives stamp set. They turned out super cute and everyone loved them!

How'd She DO That? Cat Gift Boxes:

Birthday Monday: Gummy Bear Sweet Treats

It's Monday again...yay! Time again for Birthday ideas!
