Create a beautiful recipe storage tin!  This would make for a great bridal shower gift (everyone at the shower could bring a recipe to share with the new couple).  Add the couple-to-be's initials to it for a personalized gift.  It would also make for a great housewarming gift.   

 

Sale-a-Bration Card Tin Recipe Box

1. Die cut five rose shapes from Whisper White cardstock using Rose Garden Thinlits.  
2. Place roses on tin cover to determine placement, then trim off any overhanging pieces.  Adhere with Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Let dry.  (Tip:  use an adhesive eraser to remove any unwanted adhesive)
3. Die cut letters from Basic Black cardstock using Large Letters Framelits.  Adhere with Fine Tip Glue Pen.
4. Stamp "recipe cards" using Archival Basic Black ink and Labeler Alphabet

Holiday Gift: "Jingle All the Way" Frame or Glass Block that packs a WOW!

Today I'm sharing two different projects using the same Stampin' Up! supplies:  Jingle All the Way Decor Elements and 1-1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

First up is a blast from the past, as I bring out of storage (so to speak), a fun project I did with my DOstamperSTARS demonstrator group two years ago.  Let me tell you...they were a huge hit!!  In addition, I made several of them as gifts for family and friends.  Everyone raved about them!!

Next up is another take on the same project - just a different medium.  Well, actually the same medium.  Both "Jingle All the Way" vinyl's were applied to glass.  However - today's version is actually a dollar store frame (glass section measures 4x4).

2.  Apply Anywhere Glue Stick to your chipboard piece
3.  Use Sanding Block on the outer edges
4.  Sponge Coordinating Color (Taken With Teal) on the outer edges
5.  Use Pop-up Glue Dots to adhere Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers

Build-a-Bear Workshop Name Frames - Oh so CUTE!

Hey - did you know?  I was selected by Stampin' Up! as one of 60 demonstrators to test Build-a-Bear Workshop (BABW) Parties.  So I got in gear and made up some cutes samples. 

Of course - when I think of BABW, I think of my grandsons Max & Sam. Aren't they cute?!

Here's a cute name frame I made for each of them to match their rooms.  I just love the way they turned out!!

I first cut a chipboard bear so they would be sturdy.  Then decorated the bears using the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper (#118060) and cardstock to match.  The clothes were die cut with the Beary Essentials Bigz Die (#117978).  The cap and star was cut with Beary Boy Sizzlit Die (#117981).  The letters were cut with my new Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz Dies (#115960) - LOVE 'EM!

Max's uses: Close to Cocoa, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue and Pumpkin Pie. 
Sam's uses: Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa Basic Black & Chocolate Chip.  

FYI - The frames fit a 4x6 photo

I'm so excited to give these to them for Christmas!

Tour De Freaks November Blog Hop Tour: Gift Giving!

Welcome to the November Tour de Freak Blog Hop tour which officially starts November 20th!  We are so excited that you have joined us today on our Sixth Blog Tour.  This month we are featuring Gift Giving Ideas!

I decided to feature Gift Packaging.  You know...all those little things you find at the $ store.  Well - you need something FUN to put them in.

First up - Lotion and Nail Care

Luckily these products match Stampin' Up!'s Orchid Opulence cardstock and Ink! 

For the nail care gift, I just altered the package label and added some Organza Ribbon and silver cording. 

For the lotion, I made a 2-4-6-8 box (from 8 1/2 x 11).  Stenciled the snowflakes with Orchid Opulence ink using the Vintage Ornaments II stencil and a sponge.

TIP:  decorate the cardstock before scoring or cutting.

The white snowflake is die cut using the Merry Details Sizzlets Die and attached with a Ice Circle Rhinestone Brad.

Now..something for the kids.  Penguin lotion, notes and ornaments!

I found these adorable Penguin items at the $ store and just had to have them!  I thought - not only would they make great stocking stuffers, but that I could make some matching punch art ornaments. 

OK - so you have to know...I've never made my own punch art.  I mostly just copy others and have been amazed by their creativity.  SO....

Viola - Aren't these stickin' cute?!  I can't believe how adorable they turned out.  They even got husband approval.  I made them into ornaments to attach to the packaging.

I used vellum cardstock to wrap both of these gifts.  I made a vellum open "envelope" for the post-it notes

For the Lotion - I just wrapped vellum around the bottle, leaving a couple inches at the top.  Scrunched the top together and wrapped in Tempting Turqoise Ribbon and attached the penguin ornament!

I thought about stamping on the vellum (which would be cute), but I liked seeing the item through the vellum.  Sometimes less is more!

Crystal Glitter: Boo Boxes and Spooky card

At my last DOstamperSTARS meeting we had several people volunteer to demonstrate some fun ideas.  I videotaped everyone's presentation (for our DOstamperSTARS video blog), but only got pictures of Jan's projects.  What was I thinking?  I'll have to do better next time.

Today I'm sharing Jan's projects.  She showed us how to use Crystal Effects and Cosmo Fine Glitter to create some awesome BLING!

DOdesigner Shelley: Autumn Days Card and Composition Book

Before I share today's project, I want to tell you a little bit about Shelley. She's what I call a Stampin' Up! Preferred Buyer.  What's that?  Well, basically that is what most people refer to as a Hobby Demonstrator...but who wants to be called that?  Preferred Buyer makes you sound like someone special and she is (as is all of the Preferred Buyers on my DOstamperSTARS team).

What makes Shelly even more special is her charming personality and the permanant SMILE she has on her face.  She is such a happy, delightful person.  I'm so pleased that Shelley joined my group last year. She makes me happy everytime she walks into the room.  PLUS...yes, there's more...she's an awesome cook!  She brings the most wonderful desserts to our meetings. 

Well...on to her fabulous 3-D project with matching card.  She picked the AUTUMN COLLECTION and used the Autumn Days stamp set.  I just LOVE this composition book that she made.  Didn't she do a fabulous job?!
