Stamping with the STARS #411: Pecan Pie with Little Monkey Bundle

My favorite New Color is Pecan Pie.  Which is perfect for the Little Monkey Bundle.  It also happens to be one of my favorite pies too!

How cute is this little monkey?!  This card was so much fun to make.  It was especially delightful when I noticed the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper had a couple of patterns that helped give this card a tropical feeling...fun!

How'd She DO That? Little Monkey card

DOstamping Tips:

• Stamp face image onto the monkey face shape. 
• Assemble monkey using glue dots (or Multipurpose Liquid Glue if desired).   
• For the banana,  I put a glue dot under the hand and under the bottom end of the banana to attach it to the monkey's hand.

Stamping with the STARS #410 Sketch: Beautiful Balloons Bundle

Retiring Hues of Happiness VIDEO: Secret Lock Fun Fold Club Card

You're in store for a treat today...the Secret Lock Fun Fold card!  This was one of 3 projects I did for my [email protected] Club last summer, and want to share it with you today.

I came across this style of card on YouTube (Gerry's Craft Room).  It was more of a slimline card size and was done in portrait mode.  I loved the style of card, but wanted it sized to fit Stampin' Up! medium size envelopes.  So I put my math hat on and adjusted the measurements accordingly.

 

How'd She DO That? Secret Lock Fun Fold card

• Stamps/Bundles:  Happiness Abounds Bundle (includes Blooming Happiness Dies) - retiring

  • Granny Apple Green (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, score at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8")

Stamping with the STARS #406 Sketch: Best Day with Paper Piecing

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts406.  This week we're happy to share Sketch Inspiration with you.

I really thought I was going to use a floral set with this sketch - as the sketch itself looks beautiful.  But I've been itchin' to use the Best Day stamp set, so decided to give that a try.

 

And it did not disappoint...I love the way it turned out!  I think the addition of the fun colors from the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper really helped make this card pop.  The "back" side of the paper has some really fun patterns, great for birthday cards.

• Pick up cut pieces with sticky end of the Take Your Pick tool and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Last fall, one of my team members, Beverly Jackson demonstrated the Rubberband Stamping Technique at our monthly DOstamperSTARS Zoom get-together.  It's been on my mind ever since then and I thought it would make a great theme for a Stamping with the STARS hop. So here we are!

The inspiration for my card...We have a local restaurant, the 50's Grill, and it's exactly what you might think.  Servers in pink & black, hamburgers, fries, homemade food (the best pot pies) and ice cream.  It's one of favorites - especially for birthdays! 

My grandkids like to get a Mint Chocolate Shake.  It's fun to see it brought to the table with all of the chocolate swirls showing through the glass.  So that's what I thought of for the Rubberband Stamping Technique.  

How'd She DO That? Share a Mint Chocolate Milkshake Tent card

• Bundle:  Share a Milkshake
• Paper:
  • Mint Macaron (4-1/4" x 8-1/2" card base scored at 4-1/4") 
  • Basic White (2-1/2" x 3-5/8", 5/8" x 2-1/8 for sentiment, scraps for whip cream, straw, cherry, tall glass die cuts) 
  • Early Espresso (2-7/8" x 4", scrap for chocolate die cut)
  • Country Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (4" square) 
• Ink:  Mint Macaron, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo
• Other:  Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

So...what does Rubberbands, Milkshakes & Kissing have to do with each other?  Good question.  See my tips below.

DOstamping Tips:

1. Ink tall glass image with Mint Macaron ink, then stamp off on scratch paper.  DON'T STAMP ONTO PROJECT YET.
2. Wrap a couple of rubberbands around Block C - let some of them twist.
3. Ink up rubberbands with Early Espresso ink, then stamp off on scratch paper. 
4. This is where the kissing comes in...press the inked rubberbands onto the tall glass inked image.  Repeat until you get the look you're going for - I "kissed" 3 times in various places.
5.  Breathe onto image (to remoisten), then stamp onto scrap of white. 
6. Viola...a mint chocolate milkshake!

I love the way this Share a Milkshake & Rubberband Stamping Technique card turned out.  I think the boys would approve.
