Floral Delight Suite: CASE the Catalog

Today I'm sharing quick & cute card featuring the Floral Delight Suite Collection.

This card came straight from the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini Catalog samples for the Floral Delight Suite (pg 33).

 

Often times when I first start playing with a new product, I look to our fabulous catalogs for inspiration.  It gets the creative juices flowing!

 

How'd She DO That? Happy Birthday QC card

• Stamps/Bundles: Delightful Wishes
• Paper:
  • Basic White Thick (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base) 
  • Basic White (3” x 4-1/2" tear bottom at an angle)
  • Daffodil Delight (1/2” x 2-1/4")
• Ink: Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pool Party
• Other:  Tiny Bee Trinkets, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Tips:

• Tear the bottom of the white panel at an angle as shown.
• Stamp branch (Pecan Pie), flowers (solid with Lemon Lolly, details with Daffodil Delight), leaves (Old Olive) on the right edge of the panel. 
• Stamp (3) sets of flower center around flower with Pool Party ink.
• Stamp sentiment on Daffodil Delight strip with Pecan Pie.  Adhere with Seal and Stampin' Dimensional on left side.
• Attach Tiny Bee Trinket with glue dot cut in half.

You could mass produce a few of these cards to have on hand for last-minute birthday cards.

Case the Catalog: Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper

One of the things my DOstamperSTARS Team have been doing this month is a Designer Series Paper Creative Challenge.  Each month, I put together a series of creative challenges for us and this month we focused on paper.

One of the challenges is a DSP Case, find a project in the annual catalog using Designer Series Paper and copy the layout.  A box on page 40 caught my eye and this was the perfect time to case it.

Instead of a box, I made a card using the beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (15% on this month!).

How'd She DO That? Perennial Lavender card

• Stamps: Layering Leaves
• Paper:
  • Crumb Cake (11" x 4-1/4" card base) 
  • Pretty Peacock (3-3/4" x 4-1/4" - die cut only the 3-1/2" edges with 3-3/8" x 4-3/4" Deckled Rectangle die) 
  • Lost Lagoon (scrap for )
  • Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (3" x 4-1/4, two in different patterns 1" x 4")
• Ink:  Pretty Peacock
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, Baker's Twine Essential Pack (Crumb Cake), Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems, Stampin' Seal,  Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Tips:

• I feel like I came across a really cool trick when I did a partial die cut using the Deckled Rectangles dies.  You could utilize this trick when cutting 1, 2 or 3 sides.  Give it a try!
• For the sentiment, I trimmed the hexagon shape first, then stamped.
• Don't forget to get inspired by Stampin' Up!'s packaging ideas.  They often translate well into card layouts!

Stamping with the STARS #346: CASE the Catalog, Gilded Autumn Suite

• Get inspired by a layout, color combo and even just a small feature on a project from the catalog.

I was inspired by lots of the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog Gilded Autumn samples.  Especially the ones shown on page pg 44.

Inspired by this catalog card..

If you're a DOstamping fan, then you'll know that these 9-square "quilt" cards are a favorite of mine!  Even though the catalog sample is a "mini" card, I made mine a full-size card.  I used different patterns and elements as well.

How'd She DO That? Gilded Autumn 9-square card

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Summer Nights

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! 

I'm excited to join this talented group of stampers to share alternate ideas for Paper Pumpkin Kits.  Today we're sharing the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Summer Nights

July Paper Pumpkin - Summer Nights

• Kit contains enough supplies to create nine postcards and coordinating envelopes, as well as nine die-cut tealight bags.
• Card size: 4” x 5-1/4”
• Coordinating Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy

I adore the colors of this kit.  Reminds me of summer evenings (duh, of course), but also early fall. 

Here's a FOUR alternative ideas using the Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin kit and Summer Nights Add-On card pack.

How'd She DO That? Rock & Roll Summer Nights Card

• On front of folded Pool Party card base (4-1/4" x 11), stamp fireworks image using "rock & roll" stamping technique
  • Ink up stamp with Coastal Cabana ink, then roll only the edges onto Night of Navy ink pad.  Stamp, clean and repeat as desired.
• For sentiment - ink up stamp with Coastal Cabana ink, then add Night of Navy ink to top and bottom of image.  Stamp on label die cut (from kit) and adhere with dimensionals.
• Add NEW Iridescent Pearls in the center of the fireworks.

 

How'd She DO That? Summer Nights Add-On Card  (features envelope)

• If you're a reader of mine, you'll know that I love to use patterned lined envelopes to decorate my cards.  
• The Summer Nights Add-On (154973) includes just such envelopes (along with 24 fabulously colored card bases)...super cute!
• Trim out a 4" x 5-1/4" piece from the inside of the envelope.  
• The banner is made with the NEW Banners Pick a Punch (I'm in love!).   Start with 1/2" x 4" piece of Night of Navy, cut both ends with punch.
• The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy ink.
• Decorate card with die cuts from the kit. 

 

These cards couldn't be easier to make.   Plus the results are stunning!

How'd She DO That? Summer Nights QC Cards

• First off - I totally CASED the layout of a card shown on page 126 from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.
• Second off - the floral images are stamped directly onto the card with Blackberry Bliss ink (from the kit).  Then use Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to move ink around and add glitter (in person - these cards shine!)

• Paper: Crumb Cake card base, post card from kit, Mint Macaron for sentiment

Stamping with the STARS #340: CASE the Catalog, Lovely You Bundle

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts340.  This week we're CASEing the Catalog

CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything

For my CASE, I was inspired by a sample found on page 22 of the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, using the NEW Lovely You Bundle.

• I was inspired by the colors  (Night of Navy, Crushed Curry & Gray Granite) and started with that. 
• There was a pink color too, but I switched out with Mint Macaron.  Why?  Because I had a Mint Macaron card base sitting on my crafting table.  Just call me an efficient stamper! 
• Though, I have to admit I would have never thought of this combination of colors, but somehow it works.   Good to get outside my comfort zone.

How'd She DO That? Lovely You Bundle card

• Stamps/Bundle:  Lovely You (Bundle & Save 10% with Lovely Labels Pick a Punch)
• Paper:
  • Mint Macaron (11" x 4-1/4" card base,  3/4" x 2-3/4") 
  • Whisper White (4" x 4-1/4")
  • Crushed Curry (4-1/4" x 4-1/4")
• Ink:  Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, Gray Granite & Mint Macaron
• Other:  Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Seal  & Stampin' Dimensionals.

DOstamping Tips:

• When using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, keep in mind that 1/8" will be cut off from each end.  If cutting both ends - add 1/4" to your measurements.  When cutting only one end add 1/8"
• You'll also notice that I loosely CASE'd the layout too - just turned it to a portrait position
• Don't forget to try ribbons from different Suites and Colors.  This ribbon is actually Just Jade (from the Flower for Every Season), but I found it coordinates nicely with Mint Macaron too.

Personally, I think the Lovely You Bundle is a must-have!  The cute images and nice variety of sentiments can be used all-year long.  Be sure to add it to your shopping bag today.
