Stamping with the STARS #400: Sketch for New Baby Kaladin!

As you could probably tell, I got behind in December.  That was due (in part) to a new addition to our family, this little guy, Kaladin. 

My daughter, Becky gave birth to a healthy 8 lb., 13oz. baby boy on December 9.  I can hardly believe it's already been a month.  Isn't he a cutie?

 

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts400.  This week we're happy to share a Sketch Inspiration with you.

 

This was one of the cards I made for the new family.  I was inspired by the sketch, but moved the "details" to the left edge and stamped directly onto the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.

Christmas Scottie Bundle Week - Day #1

This week I'm sharing ideas using the super cute Christmas Scottie Bundle (includes Scottie Dog Punch). 

For Day #1, I've a got an adorable holiday card for you, using basic stamping with a little added texture for a fun twist!

How'd She DO That? Wintry Christmas Scottie card

• Stamps: Christmas Scottie
• Paper:
  • Smoky Slate (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base) 
  • Basic White (3-3/4" x 5") 
  • Sweet Sorbet (3-7/8" x 5-1/8")
• Ink:  Basic Gray, Sweet Sorbet Tuxedo Black Memento
• Other:  Stamparatus, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Wintry 3D Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

• I recommend using the Stamparatus for this card.  It not only helps with perfect placement, but is great for mass-producing this adorable card.
• For an unexpected twist, add texture with the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Even though this is a "half-size" folder, you'll want to use the full size Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. 
  • You'll need the larger surface to position the stamped panel inside the folder on the diagonal from the lower left to the upper right.  (take a closer look at the photo above)
• Add lots of sparkle!  Place larger rhinestones in the snowflake centers, then smaller ones where desired, plus one on the dog's bow.

Stamping with the STARS #398: Sketch with Fitting Florets Collection

My card features the gorgeous Fitting Florets Collection of products.  The Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper is a great choice for so many occasions; Christmas, Birthday, Thank You, Friendship and even Valentine's Day.

It was our 35th Anniversary last weekend and this was the card I made for my hubby.

 

How'd She DO That? Fitting Florets Anniversary card

• Stamps: Framed Florets
• Paper:
  • Basic White Thick (4-1/4" x 11" card base) 
  • Balmy Blue (for scallop heart punch)
  • Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (3" x 3-3/4" pink, 1-1/4"  x 3-3/4" blue, scrap for heart punch ) 
• Ink: Balmy Blue
• Other:  Heart Punch Pack, 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack, Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals & Mini Glue Dots

DOstamping Tips:

• One of the patterns from the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper die cuts one of the floral spray shapes.  You'll get 8 from each sheet.  
• From the leftover paper, I used the Heart Punch Pack to cut out a couple of floral sprays that do not have a die shape.   It fits perfectly into the punch.
• You'll get two more flower pieces from each sheet, making your pattern paper go farther.

Stamping with the STARS #392: Easy Sketch with Celebrate Everthing

I couldn't decide with pattern I liked the best, so I made two cards.

• Take a closer look at the Glitter Washi Tape.  It's not just pretty; it's also a pretty adhesive.
  • 4 rolls: 1 each of 4 colors
  • 1/4" wide,  5 yards each
  • Colors: Black, Highland Heather, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
• Apply it to the bottom of the sentiment strip first, then stamp your sentiment.
• Pretty, right?!

• Stamps/Bundles: Hello Harvest Bundle (includes Rustic Pumpkin Dies)
• Paper:
  • Basic White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
  • Basic White (3-3/4" x 5") 
  • Basic Black (3-7/8" x 5-1/8")
• Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
• Other:  Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Watercolor Pencils, Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2, Blender Pens, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Tips:

• Stamp the floral spray image twice (be sure to stamp the second one upside down).  Leave a little space between them.
• Color with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.
  • daisy = Crushed Curry and Early Espresso
  • 3-petal flower = Cajun Craze
  • other flower = Cherry Cobbler
  • greenery = Old Olive
• Don't over blend or the paper will "pill"
• Take a closer look at the sentiment.  By die cutting an extra Basic Black banner, you'll get a lovely matted look to your sentiment.

I love the way this card turned out.  The images were small enough for me to have a successful watercolor experience.  Watercoloring is not normally  in my wheelhouse.  But with practice I have gotten better and I do love the look.
