Guest Stamper: Laurie Zoellmer with Springtime Vintage Fabric

When I received Laurie Zoellmer's package in the mail, I was thrilled to see her use of the Springtime Vintage Fabric.  Fabric is a challenge for me.  I'm not a sewer, though my daugher is (don't know who she got that from).  So, I really loved seeing the fabric projects.  Especially ones I can duplicate, as none of these projects require sewing!!

October 2010 Control Freaks Tour: Celebrating the Holidays with Stampin' Up!

Blog Tour Pic

Welcome to the October 2010 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.  This month, I'm the 8th stop on the tour featuring projects for the upcoming Holidays made with products from Stampin' Up!.   Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from Debbie Currier - welcome!

I'm excited to show you today's project.  My daughter Angie sews (she didn't get that from me).  So, I asked her if she could make something with Stampin' Up!'s new Designer Fabric.  Look what she made...a Wine Bottle Holder!   A great hostess gift for the holidays.  Quick and easy according to Angie!

The holder was made with the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.  The bottom was cut with the Scallop Circle Die, then a "tube" of fabric was attached to it.  Didn't she do a great job?!

I added a Crumb Cake tag cut with the Two Tags Die (can't get enough of that die - it's a must have).  I stamped and colored (with inks and blender pen) an image from the Holiday Mini stamp set, Bells and Boughs.  The Merry Christmas was stamped with Stazon Jet Black ink on vellum and wrapped around the tag.  It's attached to the holder with a pin and button from Vintage Trinkets.

My next project is a card made with Bells and Boughs, and the beautiful Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.

Ok, so I'm not much of a watercolor kind of gal.  But I've been practicing and I think this came out pretty good (for me).  I used a blender pen and ink (Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso), and watercolor paper.  The ribbon/bow is Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.  Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.

Well, that's it for me.  I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Controlfreaks Tour.  Now it's on to the next stop.  Give a big welcome new freak, Renee Van Stralen!

Stampin' Up! 2010 Convention: Fabric with Shelli and Sara

One of my most favorite presentations at each Stampin' Up! convention is Shelli Gardner's presentation.  Most times she presents with her daughter Sara Douglas, who has been away for the past two conventions.  Well, this year Sara's back!  And it was a delight to watch them banter back and forth.  They remind me of my relationship with my girls!

If you haven't already heard...Stampin' Up! is coming out with it's own fabric in the upcoming 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog.  See a sneak peak below:

Fat-Quarter

Here Shelli & Sara are showing the difference between a traditional "fat quarter" and Stampin' Up!'s fat quarter.  As you can see - the Stampin' Up! fat quarter is longer.  Also, if you look closely...the skirts they are wearing are made from the soon-to-be released fabric.  Here's a secret...their skirts...they took them off (yes, they had clothes on underneath) and they became tree skirts.  How cool is that?!

They are so much fun to watch (look at the mischeivious look in Sara's face)!  Thanks Shelli and Sara for a delightful presentation filled with fun, inspiring ideas and lots of laughs!!!

OK - so when can you get your hands on this fun fabric?  It's coming soon - September 1st.  Watch for more details later this month!!!

In fact...if you want to make sure you receive your very own copy of the 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog, fill out this request form

Enjoy~Dawn O
