Framed Art: New Fresh Florals with Layering Love

May 26, 2017

I'm finishing out Sneak Peek week with a special Framed Art piece. It features the new Fresh Florals Product Suite (coming June 1st) and the returning Layering Love stamp set. And, it's surprisingly quick and easy to make.

Fresh Florals Framed Art (5x5)

Die cut 1" x 5" strip of new Powder Pink cardstock with hearts die from Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Adhere to 1-1/4" x 5" strip of new Berry Burst cardstock. Then adhere to 5" x 5" piece of new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.
Wrap Whisper White Bakers Twine around project and tie in a bow.
Use new 2017-2019 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (Power Pink & Berry Burst) to color greeting, and stamp on Whisper White cardstock. Die cut with 3-1/4" wide oval (Stitched Shape Framelit) and adhere to 3-1/2" wide scallop oval (Layering Ovals Framelits). Adhere to project with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Insert into a 5"x 5" frame (found at Hobby Lobby)

The Fresh Florals Product Suite features the new 2017-2019 In Colors and I predict it will be a hit. You'll definitely want to add it to your wish list for June 1st (after 12pm MT)!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #230: Always an Adventure Diorama Fold for Dads & Grads

May 10, 2017

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

For today's card, I have a Grad card for you using the retiring Always an Adventure stamp set and matching Outdoor Adventure Framelits Dies.

Whether you’re an avid camper or a weekend outdoor enthusiast, you’ll love the images in this set. Use them to bring the great outdoors to your cards or to scrapbook camping and nature memories.

Always an Adventure Diorama Fun Fold (finished size 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" )

Score 5-1/2" x 10-1/2" Soft Suede card base at 3-1/2, 6-1/2, 7 & 10"
With the 1/2" panel on your right (referred to as the 5th panel), die cut a 2-3/8" circle (Layering Circle Framelits) in the 4th panel (just left of the 1/2" panel). Do not assemble yet - decorate first.
Stamp images (retiring Always an Adventure stamp set) on Whisper white scraps with Crumb Cake (directional pole), Early Espresso (bear), Pear Pizzazz (tent), Early Espresso & Tangerine Tango markers (fire).
Die cut with matching shapes from retiring Outdoor Adventure Framelits. Die cut Garden Green single tree & trees edgelit. Die cut Crumb Cake mountains & Whisper White mountain tops. Die cut 2-1/8" Soft Sky circle & 2-1/4" Crumb Cake scallop circle.
Decorate:
1. Front (1st panel): Adhere 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" Garden Green cardstock (DSP is sold out). Adhere 3-1/2" piece of Burlap Ribbon. Adhere Circle/Scallop die cuts together, then to panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere die cuts as shown.
2. Inside (2nd panel): Place 5-1/2" x 2-7/8" Soft Sky cardstock on 2nd panel to get alignment of window area. Fold window panel over and make a couple of marks at edge of the window with a pencil. Adhere mountains so they'll shown through the window. Stamp clouds with Versamark ink. Erase pencil marks and adhere.
3. Window (4th panel): Adhere tree edgelit, tent & fire. Stamp greeting (retiring Places You Go stamp set) with Soft Suede ink.
Place Fast Fuse adhesive on the 5th-panel (1/2" flap) and fold over to adhere to the inside edge of the 1st panel. Card should fold flat, then "pop-up" when open.

What a fun card, right? It could work for both Dads & Grads. With a change of the greeting to Happy Father's Day - you'll have a fun card for the outdoor lovin' Dad! Plus - what Dad can resist a fun-fold card? I know my Dad can't!

Dads & Grads: One Wild Ride (QC & Step-Up!)

Before I get started, here's a little housekeeping...

I've been hearing from several of my readers that you haven't been receiving my Subscription Emails in awhile. Today I'm sharing a couple of cards using the adventurous stamp set, One Wild Ride. One is quick & easy and the other is a "step-up" version.

Choosing gifts for motorcyclist enthusiasts is easy: riding pants, goggles, bandanas—done! But motorcycle-related cards are so much harder to find...not any longer! The One Wild Ride stamp set is perfect for the hog-riders in your life (or the wanna be hog-rider). You’ll never have to search for the right card again because now you can make it!

One Wild Ride - Quick & Easy card

Stamp "background" image (One Wild Ride stamp set) with Basic Gray image on 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/2" Whisper White card base.
Adhere 3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Brights Designer Series Paper Pack - Pumpkin Pie to card front (as this is already sold out, you could substitute the Pumpkin Pie pattern from the Fiesta Birthday DSP)
Stamp "badge" twice on scraps of Whisper White. Once with Basic Gray and cut with Best Badge punch. Again with Pumpkin Pie. Use scissors to trim out "journey" and cut banner shape on both ends. Adhere onto gray badge. Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

One Wild Ride - Step up card

Stamp "badge" image several times with Basic Gray image on 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/2" Whisper White card base.
Stamp "background" image with Smokey Slate on 2-3/8" Designer Series Paper Stitched Shape Circle. Adhere to card.
Stamp "badge" image with Versamark Ink on scrap of Basic Gray cardstock. Cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and melt with Heat Tool. cut with Best Badge punch.
Stamp badge image again with Pumpkin Pie on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.. Use scissors to trim out "journey" and cut banner shape on both ends. Adhere onto gray badge.
Wrap Black Metallic Thread around 4 fingers, 4 times, and pull off and attach to back of badge with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then attach to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere Metallics Sequins with Glue Dots. Attach Brights Enamel Shape.

I think Dad will like either card, don't you think? As I'm looking at these cards, they could even be for someone who's graduating too.

Dads & Grads: Vintage Tye Dyed Custom Tee

It's Dads & Grads week here at DOstamping with Dawn! I have several fun projects to share with you featuring ideas for the Dads and the Grads in your life.

First up is a groovy tie-dye "vintage" card featuring the retiring Occasions stamp sets, Tie Dyed & Custom Tee with T-Shirt Builder Framelit Dies. My Dad is gonna get a kick out of this card. He totally doesn't mind being referred to as vintage!

Vintage Tie Dyed Shirt card

Run 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Cucumber Crush through Big Shot with Sparkle Texture Folder. Adhere to folded 4-1/4" x 11" Cucumber Crush card base.
Cut end of 1-1/4" x 4" piece of Island Indigo with Triple Banner Punch.
Stamp "vintage" (retiring Custom Tee stamp set) on scrap of Whisper White with Island Indigo ink. Cut with Classic Label Punch (with greeting to the left edge). Adhere to banner piece.
Then staple an 8" piece of Crushed Curry Bakers Twine (retiring) to right edge of "vintage label" and tie in a bow. Adhere completed "banner" to card's right edge and top edge of textured piece.
Stamp t-shirt outline with Island Indigo ink on 2-1/2" x 3" piece of Whisper White. Then stamp the (retiring) Tie Dye stamp set images as shown below (Cucumber Crush, Island Indigo stamped off, then Daffodil Delight). Die cut with matching shape from (retiring) T-Shirt Builder Framelits Dies. Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Metallic Enamel Shape to card where desired.

These sets are so much fun to play with! Too bad they aren't going to be around for much longer. Be sure to add them to your shopping list and get them soon!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challege #228: Everyday Hero Mom

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

Super stamps for super people: the stamping world never even saw this coming. Incredible stamps for every time you're amazed by a supermom, superdad, or one of the many heroes in your life! With Mother's Day right around the corner, today's card is for Mom!

Everyday Hero is Mom

Use Watercolor Pencils to scribble color onto 4-1/4" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper in "swatches" approximately 1-1/4" tall. Press hard to get a deep color. (Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight.) Blend with an Aqua Painter. When dry, cut strips where colors meets (they'll roughly measure 4-1/4" x 1-1/4").
Use smallest star from (retitring) Stars Framelits Dies to cut three stars from each strip. Save one star of each color and brush on Clear Wink of Stella Glitter.
Fold 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in half. Stamp "lines" image (retiring Gorgeous Grunge stamp set) with Versamark ink. Cover with Clear Stampin' Emboss Power and melt with Heat tool.
Adhere the 3 strips of color paper. The adhere the "glitter" stars with Stampin' Dimensionals.
On to 2-3/8" Watercolor Paper circle (Layering Circle Framelit Dies), stamp "mom" images (retiring Everyday Hero stamp set) with Archival Basic Black ink. TIP: start with "head" image working downward. (NOTE: the dots are from the Date It stamp set, or use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw them). Color images with Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter. When dry, cover "clothes" images with Wink of Stella.
Adhere completed image to 2-1/2" Real Red Scallop Circle die cut. Adhere loops of Silver Metallic Thread to back side and adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Enamel Shapes Brights to card.
