DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #230: Always an Adventure Diorama Fold for Dads & Grads

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

For today's card, I have a Grad card for you using the retiring Always an Adventure stamp set and matching Outdoor Adventure Framelits Dies.

Whether you’re an avid camper or a weekend outdoor enthusiast, you’ll love the images in this set. Use them to bring the great outdoors to your cards or to scrapbook camping and nature memories.

Always an Adventure Diorama Fun Fold (finished size 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" )

Score 5-1/2" x 10-1/2" Soft Suede card base at 3-1/2, 6-1/2, 7 & 10"
With the 1/2" panel on your right (referred to as the 5th panel), die cut a 2-3/8" circle (Layering Circle Framelits) in the 4th panel (just left of the 1/2" panel). Do not assemble yet - decorate first.
Stamp images (retiring Always an Adventure stamp set) on Whisper white scraps with Crumb Cake (directional pole), Early Espresso (bear), Pear Pizzazz (tent), Early Espresso & Tangerine Tango markers (fire).
Die cut with matching shapes from retiring Outdoor Adventure Framelits. Die cut Garden Green single tree & trees edgelit. Die cut Crumb Cake mountains & Whisper White mountain tops. Die cut 2-1/8" Soft Sky circle & 2-1/4" Crumb Cake scallop circle.
Decorate:
1. Front (1st panel): Adhere 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" Garden Green cardstock (DSP is sold out). Adhere 3-1/2" piece of Burlap Ribbon. Adhere Circle/Scallop die cuts together, then to panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere die cuts as shown.
2. Inside (2nd panel): Place 5-1/2" x 2-7/8" Soft Sky cardstock on 2nd panel to get alignment of window area. Fold window panel over and make a couple of marks at edge of the window with a pencil. Adhere mountains so they'll shown through the window. Stamp clouds with Versamark ink. Erase pencil marks and adhere.
3. Window (4th panel): Adhere tree edgelit, tent & fire. Stamp greeting (retiring Places You Go stamp set) with Soft Suede ink.
Place Fast Fuse adhesive on the 5th-panel (1/2" flap) and fold over to adhere to the inside edge of the 1st panel. Card should fold flat, then "pop-up" when open.

What a fun card, right? It could work for both Dads & Grads. With a change of the greeting to Happy Father's Day - you'll have a fun card for the outdoor lovin' Dad! Plus - what Dad can resist a fun-fold card? I know my Dad can't!

Dads & Grads: One Wild Ride (QC & Step-Up!)

Before I get started, here's a little housekeeping...

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards using the adventurous stamp set, One Wild Ride. One is quick & easy and the other is a "step-up" version.

Choosing gifts for motorcyclist enthusiasts is easy: riding pants, goggles, bandanas—done! But motorcycle-related cards are so much harder to find...not any longer! The One Wild Ride stamp set is perfect for the hog-riders in your life (or the wanna be hog-rider). You’ll never have to search for the right card again because now you can make it!

One Wild Ride - Quick & Easy card

Stamp "background" image (One Wild Ride stamp set) with Basic Gray image on 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/2" Whisper White card base.
Adhere 3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Brights Designer Series Paper Pack - Pumpkin Pie to card front (as this is already sold out, you could substitute the Pumpkin Pie pattern from the Fiesta Birthday DSP)
Stamp "badge" twice on scraps of Whisper White. Once with Basic Gray and cut with Best Badge punch. Again with Pumpkin Pie. Use scissors to trim out "journey" and cut banner shape on both ends. Adhere onto gray badge. Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

One Wild Ride - Step up card

Stamp "badge" image several times with Basic Gray image on 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/2" Whisper White card base.
Stamp "background" image with Smokey Slate on 2-3/8" Designer Series Paper Stitched Shape Circle. Adhere to card.
Stamp "badge" image with Versamark Ink on scrap of Basic Gray cardstock. Cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and melt with Heat Tool. cut with Best Badge punch.
Stamp badge image again with Pumpkin Pie on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.. Use scissors to trim out "journey" and cut banner shape on both ends. Adhere onto gray badge.
Wrap Black Metallic Thread around 4 fingers, 4 times, and pull off and attach to back of badge with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then attach to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere Metallics Sequins with Glue Dots. Attach Brights Enamel Shape.

I think Dad will like either card, don't you think? As I'm looking at these cards, they could even be for someone who's graduating too.

Dads & Grads: This Little Piggy Did It!

Today for Dads & Grads week, I've got a fun female graduation card for you featuring a brand new set called This Little Piggy (coming June 1st).

The images in this cute stamp set are gonna make you smile! I just know you'll want to add it to your wish list!

This Little Piggy Grad card

Use sponge dauber & Pool Party ink to color stripes on 4" x 5-1/4" piece of retiring Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. Then adhere to 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black. Then adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Melon Mambo card base.
Stamp flying pig image (This Little Piggy stamp set) on a scrap of Watercolor Paper with Archival Basic Black ink. Use watercolor pencils & Aqua Painter to color pig (Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay & Basic Gray). Fussy cut out.
Stamp greeting with black ink on scrap of Whisper White. Cut out each word.
Place the greeting pieces and pig on the card front. Adhere greeting with SNAIL and pig with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Rhinestones

Inside:

Die cut 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock with "scallop" edge shape from the new Seasonal Layers Thinlits (coming June 1).
Stamp greeting from the retiring BYOP stamp set with black ink.

What a fun graduation card, don't you think?

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #226: Pull-Up Gift Card Holder

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge with Stampin' Up! Bundles. I chose the Banners For You Bundle.

If you like Fun Fold Cards, then you're in for a treat today. This card idea came from fellow demonstrator, Colleen Magness. I received it in a swap we both were in and I was immediately drawn to the Pull-up Gift Card Holder fold. I also knew my Stampin' Club Members would enjoy it too. With school graduations right around the corner I switched it to a Congratulations themed card. As you open this fun card - the "gift" will reveal itself. Take a look...

Pull-up Gift Card Holder with Party Animal Designer Series Paper by Dawn Olchefske #dostamping

Pull-up Gift Card Holder measurements

Card Base = 4-1/4" x 11" (Emerald Envy cardstock)
- score at 2" and 7-1/4"
- fold top down (towards you)
- fold bottom up (away from you)
Inside panel = 6-3/4" x 3-5/8" (Party Animal Designer Series Paper)
- score at 1-5/8 and 6"
- fold like a "Z" fold...small scored area away from you, to behind panel
- fold bottom upwards (away from you)

Pull-up Gift Card Holder:

Outside:

Once you've folded your card base (as listed above), the front is the two folded edges. Stamp confetti image (Balloon Adventure stamp set) with Emerald Envy ink all over the larger top panel.
Stamp greeting (Suite Sentiments) to the right side of 1" x 4-1/4" strip of Whisper White cardstock. To adhere to lower panel...fold large stamped card front over lower panel and position the greeting strip just below the larger stamped piece.
With lower "greeting" panel folded up, staple front and back of card together to create pocket. (NOTE: keep staples close to the outside edges)
Use Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut two balloons...large from Party Animal Designer Series Paper and small from Crushed Curry cardstock. Adhere as follows:
1. Small Balloon on the lower panel near greeting with Stampin' Dimensional at the bottom of the balloon (do not adhere to the top panel)
2. Large Balloon on the bottom of the large panel overlapping small balloon (put Stampin' Dimensionals at the top of the balloon (do not adhere to the bottom panel.

Inside:

With the inside panel folded into a "Z", have the small "panel farthest away from you..."at the top". Add Tear & Tape to this area (I used two strips). Then adhere that portion to inside the card base - above the score line (see photo below).
The bottom of the "Z" fold will fold up (insert cash or gift card), then slide down into the card base pocket. (you may have to help it move down into the pocket.
On scrap of white, stamp banner out (Banners For You) and greeting (Balloon Adventure) with Pacific Point ink. Die cut with matching image from Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies. Adhere to inside with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I can see this style of card working for birthdays, weddings, Christmas and more! Give it a try.

Places You'll Go Graduation Card

Die cut 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper using Big Shot & Starburst Thinlit. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Crumb Cake card base with Fast Fuse.
Globe:
- Stamp "globe base" (Places You'll Go stamp set) with Archival Basic Black ink near bottom right corner of 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
- Stamp "globe" with Archival Basic Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock. Color wash with Aqua Painter and Bermuda Bay ink. Let dry and add additional color for depth. Cut with 2" Circle Punch and adhere to "globe base" with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp greeting with Flirty Flamingo ink on 1-5/8" Whisper White Thick cardstock Stitched Shapes Framelit square.
Adhere both the completed globe and square pieces onto the card with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
Place Flirty Flamingo heart on globe (2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes).

Feb 2017 Paper Pumpkin: Many Happy Birthdays Candy Slider & Card

So, one of the first things I thought of when I saw the February Many Happy Birthdays Paper Pumpkin kit was, this would make a great candy bar slider! And to my delight, it worked out perfectly...just like I envisioned it in my head - yay!!

Easy Candy Bar Slider

Assemble "card sleeve" from kit as instructed (but exclude the flame).
Cut holes at open end of card with 1/8" handheld circle punch (I was able to punch through both layers at the same time)
Wrap 22" of Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon around candy bar (from top to bottom and back up) and slide into the card sleeve. Thread "back" ribbon through back hole and "front" ribbon through front hole and tie together in a bow.
Create pull tag by stamping "pull" on scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy ink. Punch with Classic Label punch. Trim down to size. Punch 1/8" hole on end. Thread Night of Navy Baker's Twine through "tag" hole and onto ruched ribbon bow, then tie in a bow.
Die cut 2-1/4" x 1-5/16" Stitched Shape Oval Framelit from Whisper White cardstock. Stamp images with Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo inks. Adhere to front of slider with strips of Stampin' Dimensionals over the window (be careful to not adhere over the window edges to the candy bar)
To open: pull up on the ribbon and the candy bar slides out...yum!

My last project turned out to be a "happy accident". I had punched some stars from the patterned card sleeves, which left some strips of paper with "negative star cutouts. As I was cleaning up, this strip almost landed in the trash, when I thought..."hmm, I could make something with this by putting stars over the negative spaces". Though, If I were to make it again - I'd just cut a strip of the paper and add the stars. I'll share directions for that below.

Celebrate You card

Cut 4-3/8" x 1-1/2" strip from card sleeve.
Cut 3 stars using Medium Star Punch (Coral Caypso, Night of Navy & Peekaboo Peach cardstock) and adhere to strip with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp greetings on 3/4" strips of Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy ink. Trim down to size and trim ends into "flags". Adhere "celebrate" with Stampin' Dimensionals. Staple 8" of Night of Navy Baker's Twine and "you" together to strip. Tie twine in a bow.
Adhere completed "strip" to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Night of Navy card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This would make for a great graduation or birthday card. What do you think of these projects? Super cute, right?
