Stamping with the STARS #411: Pecan Pie with Little Monkey Bundle

My favorite New Color is Pecan Pie.  Which is perfect for the Little Monkey Bundle.  It also happens to be one of my favorite pies too!

How cute is this little monkey?!  This card was so much fun to make.  It was especially delightful when I noticed the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper had a couple of patterns that helped give this card a tropical feeling...fun!

How'd She DO That? Little Monkey card

• Stamps/Bundles:  Little Monkey Bundle (save 10% include Little Monkey Builder Punch)

  • Pecan Pie (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, scrap for punch)

DOstamping Tips:

• Stamp face image onto the monkey face shape. 
• Assemble monkey using glue dots (or Multipurpose Liquid Glue if desired).   
• For the banana,  I put a glue dot under the hand and under the bottom end of the banana to attach it to the monkey's hand.

HSDT Video: Painted Blooms Mini Treat Bags Window Card

Stamping Club Members had fun playing with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits last month. Though, I think the hardest part of the project was deciding which pattern to choose from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.  They are all gorgeous!  

For the club project, we actually made them into cards using the Sale-A-Bration Nature's Perfection stamp set.  A single panel pulls out to reveal the stamping (and of course, your message on the back).  Guess what...these fit into a Stampin' Up! MediumEnvelope [107301].  For today's cards, I'm using the Painted Petals stamp set!

Travel Memories Tag Wallet

It's that time of year again - Travel Time!  And just in time...Stampin' Up! has a line of travel products in their Summer Mini Catalog.  Today, I'm sharing a cute little photo wallet to share your Travel Memories, showcasing Stampin' Up! Travel Journal Designer Series Paper.

This little Tag Wallet only measures 3" x 4-1/4".  But open it up and WOW... it will hold up to 12-13 pictures!

NOTE:  This project uses a couple of punches that will be retiring.  The Tag Corner punch (used on the front and inside flaps, as well as the inside tags).  The arrows are created with the My Way punch.  I'm gonna miss these punches!  As of 6/19 - they are still available for purchase.

Dawns Stamping Tips
1.  For the arrow (My Way punch) - I punched the largest arrow out of both Pumpkin Pie and lightweight chipboard.  Adhered the two together and then attached it to the wallet with a brad.  It swings back and forth to open the wallet.

2.  Lookie here...the word "travel" was stamped using the new set "Rough Type Alphabet" (from the Summer Mini Catalog).  I lined them on a clear block and stamped it all together.  LOVE IT!!  Huge time saver!

3.  When placing the letters on your clear block, start right to left.

Springtime Mini Album Tin with Stampin' Up! 2-Step Bird Punch

Today I'm sharing a project my Hedgehog Scrapbook Club Members last month.  They each made this adorable Springtime Mini Album Tin.  Some received Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper (as shown in tin below) and others received Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper to make theirs.

Supplies:  Fancy Flower stamp set, Versamark Ink, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink & Whisper White Cardstock, Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper, Punches: Corner Rounder, Scallop Border, Fancy Flower, 2-Step Bird, Fluerettes II, Sending Love Epoxy Brad, Pewter Jumbo Eyelets, Pretty in Pink Striped Ribbon, Paper Trimmer w/Scoring Blade, Embossing Buddy, Clear Embossing Powder, Powder Pal Tray, Heat Tool

I love the detail of the embossed flowers on the cover of the tin.  See my tips below for embossing on metal/tin!

Dawns Stamping Tips - Embossing on Tin

1.  I used LOTS of powder from an Embossing Buddy (#103083, $5.95) to remove static from the tin.

2.  Then stamp, add clear embossing powder, melt with heat tool and let cool

3.  After cooling, remove excess Embossing Buddy powder with a swiffer sheet
