DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #265: Heart Happiness Hugs Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge. It's also Day#2 of my LOVE is in the Air week!

Continuing with the LOVE theme week, this photo challenge is perfect! If you're looking for some quick & cute cards to send to your kids or grandkids for Valentine's Day - this "hugs" card is perfect too!

How'd She DO That tips for Heart Happiness Hugs card:

Stamps: Heart Happiness
Paper:
- Real Red (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (3" x 5-1/2")
- Basic Black (3-1/4" x 5-1/2" and 1/2" x 3" for Lovely Words Thinlit)
- Silver Foil (3-1/4" x 1/2")
Ink: Real Red
Other: Big Shot, Lovely Words Thinlits. Fine Tip Glue Pen
Tip: Stamping hearts
- visualize the whisper white piece as two rows of hearts.
- start in the bottom row center by inking heart image with real red ink, stamp off on scrap paper, then stamp on white piece.
- then stamp hearts upside down on either side of the first heart.
- continue by inking heart, stamp off, then stamp on right side (repeat for the left side).
- Turn white piece around and stamp the hearts in a similar fashion, but start with a full-strength heart in the middle - continuing with light hearts, then end with dark hearts)

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #261: Petal Palette Bundle Thank You

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

There's lots to choose from this week's photo inspiration: birds, color combo, polka dots, stripes, glasses, packaging and more! I chose to focus on the birds and a couple of the colors. Here's what I came up with using the upcoming Petal Palette Bundle (coming Jan 3, 2018)...

How'd She DO That?... tips for Petal Palette Bundle card:

Stamps: Petal Palette
Paper:
- Whisper White (11" x 4-1/4" card base, scraps for bird die cut and 2-3/8" circle)
- Pool Party: (4" x 5-1/4")
- Basic Black (scrap for die cut)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin' Blends: Cherry Cobbler Combo Pack, Pool Party Combo Pack (color circle with light above branch and dark below the branch)
Other: Big Shot, Petals & More Thinlits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits (2-3/8" circle), Whisper White Bakers Twine, Basic Rhinestone Jewels & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tips:
- Place a strip of Stampin' Dimensionals "edges" in the center of the 2-3/8" circle to adhere black detailed die cut. Place a Stampin' Dimensional at the top and bottom of the circle, then adhere to card.
- Attach length of twine with a stapler, then tie in a bow.
- Color Rhinestone with light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #253: Pattern Pumpkins Hello Fall

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

When I saw today's photo inspiration, I knew immediately what I was going to do. I reached for the new Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies (from the 2017 Holiday Catalog). Plus, I got a chance to play a little bit with the new Stampin' Blends - coming November 1 - yay! Here's what I came up with...

Patterned Pumpkins Hello Fall measurements & tips:

Stamps: Merry Cafe (for greeting)
Paper:
- Cajun Craze = 4-1/2" x 11" (card base), 4" x 5-1/4", and scrap for Pattern Pumpkins Thinlits
- Very Vanilla = 2-1/8" Stitched Shapes Framelit square, and scrap for greeting
- Soft Suede = 2-1/4" Layering Squares Framelit scallop, and scrap for swirl die
- Always Artichoke = scrap for leaf die
- Wood Texture Designer Series Paper = 1-1/2" x 4" (part of Buy 3, Get 1 FREE sale)
Ink: Soft Suede

- Adhere the pumpkin die cut just a little bit off the left edge with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #249: Painted Harvest, Pick a Pumpkin Wreath

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

I went with a pretty literal interpretation of today's photo inspiration. But I REALLY like the way it turned out. Here's how you can recreate it...

Painted Harvest Pick a Pumpkin Wreath card

Run 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" Soft Suede panel through Big Shot with Pinewood Planks Texture Embossing Folder. Adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Soft Suede cardstock.
Wrap Jute Twine loosely around 4-fingers three times. Tie in a knot where the ends meet and then in two other places tie a small knot to complete the wreath. Adhere with glue dots to card front.
Stamp & cut the following images:
1. From Painted Harvest stamp set: sunflower on Whisper White, small flower image is stamped 4 times with Crumb Cake ink. Twice stamped off and twice again, rotating image each time. Stamp center image with Early Espresso ink...stamp off, then stamp again rotating image. Stamp a few dots with Early Espresso ink in cent. Fussy cut out.
2. From Pick a Pumpkin: pumpkin image on Whisper White with Soft Suede ink stamped off. Dotted leaf image stamp with Early Espresso ink. Stem image stamp with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake, use Blender Pen to blend in image. Die cut with matching shapes from Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies.
3. Cut Crumb Cake leaf using Leaf Punch
Assemble sunflower, leaves & pumpkin together with glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.
Wrap Gold Metallic Thread around 3-fingers and adhere to back of "flower" with Glue Dots. Then adhere wreath to card with "double-stacked" Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere Touches of Nature Elements leaf just under wreath with a Glue Dot.
Stamp "hello" (from Thoughtful Banners stamp set) with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake. Cut with Classic Label Punch. Adhere to card with Glue Dots and trim off excess from right edge.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #245: Country Livin' Guitar!

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

Stampin' Up!'s Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack was a perfect choice for this week's photo inspiration challenge. It's paired with the guitar image from the Country Livin' stamp set. Plus is bursting with copper accents! Take a look...

Country Livin' Guitar card

Stamp greeting (from Better Together stamp set) with Versamark ink on 4" x 5-1/2" panel of Very Vanilla. Cover with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. Remove excess and melt with Heat tool.
Apply Year of Cheer Washi Tape (coming 9/1) to left edge of panel. Adhere panel to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Thick Very Vanilla card base.
Die cut three Stitched Shapes Framelits circles (1-7/8")
1. Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
2. Very Vanilla cardstock = stamped with Sheet Music background stamp using Archival Basic Black ink
3. Copper Foil = run through Big Shot with Oh My Stars Texture Impressions Embossing Folder
Arrange all 3 circles on card front. Before adhering, loop Copper Thread around four fingers 3 to 4 times. Remove and pinch together in the middle and adhere to card with SNAIL adhesive. Then adhere circles.
Stamp guitar image (from Country Livin' stamp set) with Archival Basic Black ink on lighter wood tone piece from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. Use Paper Snips to cut out. Then adhere to card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals
Adhere Metallic Sequins (copper) with Fine Tip Glue Pen

I'm giddy with the way this card turned out. If you have a guitar player or musician in your life...I'm sure they would be delighted to receive a card like this.
