DOstamperSTARS Shoebox Swap - Valentines

We had a DOstamperSTARS Shoebox Swap last week.  Our theme was "anything new" from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog.  I really enjoy our shoebox meetings.  It's a chance to just stamp and chat with friends.  We shared a pizza, everyone brought a card for everyone else to make and we did our prize drawings from our Sneak Peak Spring Catalog Countdown virtual party...woohoo, fun! 

I get asked a lot, "What's a Shoebox Swap?"  It's called a Shoebox Swap, because you put the supplies/tools to make your card in a "shoebox" and we pass them around the room for everyone to make each other's card.  As my group is from all over the United States, some gals will mail them to me...so everyone can participate.

A.  I received them as a pillow gift on the recent Stampin' Up! DisneyWorld Incentive Trip.

Q.  Could you share the Summer Starfruit color comparison to Daffodil Delight and So Saffron?
A.  I chuckled when I received this question, as I knew the minute I posted my comparison of this color to the "greens", I would get a request for the "yellow" comparison.  I did run out of time yesterday, but had time today to put it together.  See below

#SSC033 Thursday Challenge: Wizard of Oz and Glimmer Paper!

It's Thursday already...I can't believe another week has flown by!  Are you ready for a new Challenge Thursday.  Today's challenge is a "Musical Mania" challenge, #SSC033! 

Our inspiration for this week's challenge is the musical, "The Wizard of Oz."  Specifically Dorothy's Ruby Slippers. Use Stampin' Up!'s new Red Glimmer Paper (or add glitter to red card stock or red stamped images). 

 

Here's my card that features Stampin' Up! Red Glimmer Paper (from the 2011 Occasions Mini Catalog)...

 
 

The technique I used on the "background" piece is called Herringbone Technique.  I wanted to do this technique because it kind of reminds of the pattern of the yellow brick road.  I love the way it turned out - woohoo!
