Tour De Freaks May Tour: Elements of Style

 

Welcome to the May 2010 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today! This month, I'm the 1st stop on the tour featuring projects made with products from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. In fact, you may have just "made the loop" and came from Mary Brown's awesome website. 

My project today features a Shelli favorite, Elements of Style stamp set.  I know, you've probably seen tons of samples of this set.  But I wanted to do something a little different.  Most projects I've seen have lots of vintage details and I wanted more of a clean and simple look.  I love how it turned out!

So here's my Elements of Style Hostess Gift Card Pack (received by my workshop hostesses this past month)

I colored the images with Q-tips.  Yes, that's right...Q-tips.  I first tried using Stampin' Pastels to color them in, but thought it looked too soft.  So what the heck...I already had the Q-tips out.  I gave it a try and LOVE the look of it!  Plus - super easy to do!!

Stampin' Up! 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog: Delightful Decorations & Founder's Circle

Phew - I finished my 125 swaps for Founder's Circle...Yeah!! 

I'm really liking the new 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog.  This card showcases a lot of new Holiday Mini products.  The Delightful Decorations & Four the Holidays stamp sets.  The matching ornament punch - YEAH!... it also has a matching Window Die for the Mover & Shaper Die for the Big Shot machine, called Holiday Windows.  Even the ribbon is from the Holiday mini (called Mistletoe).

Holiday Windows (#116821, $29.95) comes with 4 die images:  Ornament, Dove, Circle (to layer under our 1-3/4" punch) and a decorative Square Shape.

Big Shot - Scallop Circle Dress Card

Here's one of my May Technique Tuesday cards.  This is so easy and so cute! 

 

Cut a Scallop Circle (#113468 for $19.95) from Red Riding Hood Pattern DSP (on sale, buy 3, get the 4th free), with the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.  Then cut away the sides to create the dress form.

Add a cute little belt for some bling (uses Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone brad from Pretties Kit and flower buckle from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware). 

The greeting is from the Great Friend stamp set from the Occasions Catalog which ends June 30th.

Isn't it darling!!

Heart, "edging" and greeting are silver heat embossed.   Heat embossing is a great look for this stamp set.  The hat pin and beads are from the Pretties Kit.

Happiness Always & Stampers Showcase

Woohoo - I'm on Stampers Showcase again.  Stampers Showcase is a project gallery for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.
