Flight of the Butterfly - Gift Set

This Gift Set was so much fun to create.  Not only does it feature the new "Flight of the Buttefly" stamp set, but also features several Pretties Kit items.  I love the Pretties Kit!

FUN FEATURES:  The large Pretties Kit flower features a Lilac Rhinestone Brad in the center.  The hat pin features a Pale Plum dyed Pretties Kit flower and pearl bead.  The Taffeta Ribbon is dyed Sage Shadow.  Colors are Pale Plum, Perfect Plum & Sage Shadow.  Also features the stamp set -Seeing Spots.

Flight of the Butterfly - convention sample

Here's another of my convention samples using the new stamp set "Flight of the Butterfly" as shown on page 97 in the Stampin' Up! Fall Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog.  Hey- did you know, that this stamp is also featured in the spanish version catalog "celebrando creatividad" found on page 28.  Pretty cool, huh?

Flight of the Butterfly

Here's a picture of me in front of one of the Convention Display Boards.  Several of my projects are on this board. 

The project that is my favorite is the scrapbook page of my daughter, Becky (in the middle of the board).  This was from her prom, almost 10 years ago.  Oh my goodness- so much has changed and yet so little has changed. 

 

She found these cute little butterfly clips and wanted to use them in her hair.  I couldn't resist using the Sticky Cut Letters and Fine Cosmo Glitter.  I also used a hat pin from the Pretties Kit to create my own Butterfly Pin.  The butterfly is made with vellum paper, Dazzling Diamonds and a touch of chunky glitter.

Retired PMS (Pizza, Music & Stamping) Stamp Camp

Last Friday night 10 ladies and 1 guy enjoyed a fun night of Pizza, Music and Stamping!  This was my annual Retired Stamp Camp.  We made 15 cards, 3 of 5 designs.  See below for card samples...(some of which were inspired by SCS.)

Features:  Word Search background stamp, Basic Black Ink, Summer Day's Simply Scrappin' Kit (for Designer Paper) Tempting Turquoise cardstock, ink & 1/4" Ribbon). 

Tip:  Use the eraser end of a pencil to create the dots over "Happy Birthday"!  Just dip into an inkpad and "stamp" onto cardstock.

July Technique Tuesday Projects

Below is project #1 for July's Technique Tuesday class.  This is a special class that I do for my Stamping Club Members.  

This month's class featured the "Pretties Kit"..  There are so many fun things that you can do with the Pretties Kit.  Here's a display of the pieces you get with the kit (you'll receive several of each piece). 

PROJECT #1

This technique features "Flower Altering".  To demonstrate how one color can look used with different coloring tools...both cards feature the flowers altered with "Orchid Opulence".

The instruction card below features two ways to alter your "Pretties Flowers".   The larger flower uses Orchid Opulence for the Stampin' Pastels (chalk).  The smaller flower use Orchid Opulence Stampin' Write Marker.  Notice how you can achieve different shades of the same color by using different color tools.

The next card features brushing Orchid Opulence ink on with an Aqua Painter.

Block Party stamp set (to be retired) & Lovely Labels, Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Chocolate Chip, Pretties Kit, 1 1/4 & 1 3/8" punches, Stampin' Dimentsionals, Aqua Painter

PROJECT #2

Stampin' Up! Fresh Cuts - Simple but Elegant

I am so lovin' the new Fresh Cuts stamp set and Die-Cut Notecards w/envelopes!  These two products will be featured in the upcoming 2008 Fall Winter Idea Book & Catalog (to be release August 11th).  But you can purchase them this month because Stampin' Up! is giving us a sneak peak!  More information here.

Swap - Voted most Favorite

Michelle's card was voted the most favorite.  That's no surprise...she is my "artistic" demonstrator.  With a background in graphic arts, she is a natural for stamping and scrapbooking.  She was also my very first Stampin' Up! demonstrator to join my group.
