DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #303: Tropical Escape Day #3

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spolight Challenge - Product Suites" challenge.

Between the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog, there are lots of product suites to choose from...21 to be exact! But of course, I went with the Tropical Escape Suite.

For Day #3 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week, I added a little stamping onto the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (DSP), to make it my own.

How'd She DO That? tips for Tropical Escape card:

The black dotted patterned DSP felt like it needed a little "lift". The leaves were stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink - a nice subtle color to add a little texture. Don't be afraid of stamping on DSP to get your own custom look!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #298: Country Home Fun Fold Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

If you're looking for stamp sets that are perfect for coloring with Stampin' Blends, the 2018 Holiday Catalog is filled with lots of choices! One of them being, the Country Home stamp set, which at first look, I didn't get. I know, I know...what was I thinking?

After seeing my DOstamperSTARS stamping community's creations, I broke down and got it. And...I'm so glad I did. The images are perfect for Stampin' Blends.

This is one of the cards I offered at my Local Stamping Club Class this week (I have a TO GO option too). It was a hit, as it featured the Double Dutch Door Fun Fold and the Stampin' Blends.

The card "style" was shared with me by my friend & fellow demonstrator, Julie Davison (I love her work!),. Let's dive into this fun fold card.

How'd She DO That? tips for Double Dutch Door Fun Fold card:

Card base: 4-1/8" x 8-3/4", score at 5-1/2" (Crumb Cake)
Wrap around door panel: 2-1/4" x 8-1/2", score at 2-1/8" from each end (Crumb Cake) - adhere center area only, to back of card.
Top flap: 3" x 3-7/8" (Galvanized Metallic Paper with Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder)
Door Flaps: two 2" x 2" (Country Lane Designer Series Paper)
Focal Point: 4" x 2-7/8" (Whisper White), 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" (Thick Whisper White)

Everyone had so much fun coloring this Country Home image with Stampin' Blends. I heard many comments on how soothing it was to color with them. For me, my favorite thing about Stampin' Blends is...they make me feel like an artist. Here's the list of what was used.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #274: Bird Banter Birthday

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

This week's inspiration is Stampin' Up! "critter" images - any animal, insect, critter; cute or realistic. As I was looking through the catalog to see what to use...oh my, there are a lot of stamps set to choose from. But I hadn't used the 2018 Occasions Catalog Bird Banter stamp set yet, so that is what I chose.

How'd She DO That tips for Bird Banter card:

- Thick Whisper White (11" X 4-1/4" card base)
- Whisper White (5-1/4" X 4" & scraps for three 1-7/16" squares)

Tip for adding a touch of depth with Stampin' Blends:
- Let your Light Blend color dry and then color again to add more depth with the same light marker.
- It will create a softer depth look than using both light and dark markers.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #270: Lots of Lavender with mounting trick!

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

Last night was my Stamp-a-Stack class and one of the cards we made featured the beautiful Lots of Lavender Sale-a-Bration stamp set. I think my customers were surprised at how easily the card came together. That's because I used a "mounting trick" for the leaves and stem (see below for details). This especially works great with photopolymer stamp sets.

How'd She DO That tips for Lots of Lavender card:

Tip: Easy alignment of stem & leaves:

stamp lavender image with black ink.
place the 3 leaf/stem images (uninked) directly onto the lavender stamped image in the coordinating areas.
press an "E" block onto all 3 images.
ink up with Old Olive and stamp all at once.
