A Little Something: Trick or Treat Pumpkin

Today I'm sharing one of my Holiday Catalog swap cards, featuring the Happy Haunting collection. 

For one of my swaps I recently participated in, I wanted to use the fun Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.  However, I didn't purchase many Halloween stamps (don't know what I was thinking!).  Then I remember, I received the "A Little Something" stamp set as a prize at the July Stampin' Up! Convention, and it has several fall/winter occasions images to choose from, including a Trick or Treat image.

 

This card is a great QC card (quick and cute) and a fun layout too!  The DSP measures 4" x 2-3/4".  You can get 12 pieces from one sheet of pattern paper.  Great for mass-producing cards!

    

How to create the Trick or Treat Pumpkin:

• Stamp image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock
• Color pumpkins with Tangelo Twist Stampin' Write Marker 
• Punch with 1-3/4" Circle Punch
• Punch Black Glimmer Paper with Banner Punch and adhere upside down to back of circle with a glue dot
• Staple 6" of Basic Black Baker's Twine to top of circle and tie twine in a bow.
• Die cut Old Olive with leaf shape from the Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die and adhere with glue dot

The selection of patterns from the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper are so much fun!  I couldn't decide which pattern I liked the best, so I made several variations.  Fun, huh?!

Curvy Keepsake Box Holiday Trio, 12 Week's of Christmas

Curvy Keepsake Box Holiday Trio

For week #2, I shared a couple of Holiday Character Curvy Keepsake Boxes.  Specifically the Santa and the Snowman boxes.  After I created the project sheet, I later created the Rudolph box (but it was after the publication deadline).  So I thought I'd share all three with you today.

Amazing Birthday Balloon Punch Art (& Fall Harvest Orchard Memories)

We've got several birthday's in October here at the Olchefske house.  This weekend the boys were over and we did a little card making after a day at the Apple Orchard.  They picked the colors (Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise) and I selected the stamp set...Amazing Birthday.  I wish I had gotten a picture of their cards before they sealed them in the envelopes, as they did an amazing job.  So today, you'll just get to see my card.

I think this would make a great basic layout for this stamp set.  Just switch out the balloons for a cupcake, party hat, triangle banner, etc.   I've put together a project sheet PDF for you (with supply list, measurements and instructions).  Feel free to print it out and use it to create your own Amazing Birthday Cards

A day at the Fall Harvest Orchard

Every fall we take Max and Sam to the local apple orchards.  There are many to choose from in MN.  But one of our favorites was the Fall Harvest Orchard in Delano.  This summer the owner past away and the family has decided to sell, so this will be the last season.

The orchard holds a special place in our hearts, as it was the first one we took Max to six years ago.   I remember him looking at the newborn baby chicks in awe.  We took the same picture of him every year.  Look how much he's grown.  We'll miss going there every fall.
