Beautiful Drapery Fold with Wildly Flowering & Sneak Peek

Today I'm sharing a beautiful Drapery Fold card made with the gorgeous Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper (15% off - ends in 2 days). 

This was another creative challenge for my DOstamperSTARS Team this month.  They came up with a lot of varieties of Drapery Folds and shared them on our private Facebook community page!

 

How'd She DO That? Wildly Flowering Drapery Fold card

• Stamps: Unbounded Love 
• Paper:
  • Moody Mauve (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, scrap for sentiment punch, 3/4" x 4", scrap for bough punch - small leaf) 
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4") 
  • Wild Wheat (2-1/4" square, scrap for bough punch - large leaf)
  • Blackberry Bliss (scrap for bough punch - small leaf)
  • Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper (3" x 10" - see below for tips on scoring/cutting)
• Ink:  Blackberry Bliss
• Other:  Simply Scored, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Bough Punch, Labeled With Love Punch,  Blackberry Bliss  & Gold 1/2" Texture Ribbon (coming 9/4), 2023-2025 In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots, Tear & Tape, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Drapery Fold Card Tutorial:

• First, adhere 2-1/4" square to bottom right corner of white panel.
• Drapery Fold steps: 
  1. Score a 3" x 10" piece of Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper at 2", 3", 5", 6", 8" and 9"
  2. Put a pencil mark at 1-1/4" down from the top of the right edge.
  3. From bottom of 2" score line, cut diagonally up to the 1-1/4" pencil mark on the right edge.
  4. From left edge, valley fold, then mountain fold, repeating to the end (folding over to the left side). 
  5. Burnish folds with a bone folder and adhere to card as shown.
  6. Add a strip of Tear and tape across the very top of the folded piece and adhere the bottom of the 3/4" strip of Moody Mauve to the adhesive. 
• Wrap the coming soon (9/4) Blackberry Bliss  & Gold 1/2" Texture Ribbon around panel and tie in a knot on the left edge.
• Tuck in some Bough Punch cut outs (from scraps) - adhere with glue dots.
• Stamp sentiment on Moody Mauve scrap and cut with Labeled With Love Punch.  Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals on the upper half of label.  
• Finish off with the lovely 2023-2025 In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots.

Sneak Peek: Country Woods Suite Collection coming May 1

This card reminds me of my mom, who passed 20 years ago.  She loved her white/blue Pfaltzgraff dinnerware (which my daughter has now). She also collected many things, including Red Wing Pottery items.  The jug reminds of one of those items.  She would have liked this card.

DOstamping Tips:

• Adhere DSP rectangles to white panel and then to folded card base.
• Attach 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Summer Splash cardstock to Adhesive Sheet.  Then die cut single detailed leaf and leaf label dies. Adhere the label die cut to card by peeling off the adhesive sheet backing.
• Stamp sentiment onto the center piece of the white leaf  label die cut.  Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Peel off adhesive sheet backing from single detailed leaf die cut and adhere under corner of sentiment.
• Tie a bow into Summer Splash ribbon and adhere to card with glue dot.
• Attach 2024-2026 In Color Resin Dots where shown.

I had a busy past couple of days.  One of them was for my grandson, Kaladin who turned one!  Which is why I'm late getting this post up for Saturday's sketch.  But what a fun day!  And in celebration of him, I made a card using the sketch.

DOstamping Tips:

• When using the FREE Sale-a-Bration Jungle Pals Dies (coming 1/4/2024), I recommend using Adhesive Sheets for the vine shape
• Use scraps & Monkey Builder Punch to cut out pieces and assemble monkey using Glue Dots. 
• Adhere down only the halfway first, so you can "hook" the tail onto the vine.  Then adhere head with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• To stamp the sentiment, cover the word "hi" with tape.  Ink up with black ink and remove the tape before stamping.
• Use Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to write the 3 dots.

DOstamping Tips:

• For stamping the main focal point, I pulled out my Stamparatus.  Stamping on colored cardstock is sometimes a challenge to get a good solid image.  Using the Stamparatus allows for stamping it multiple times, which allows the ink to settle into the cardstock for a clean looking stamped image.
• The He's the Man Designer Series Paper is a unique combination of masculine designs 12 x 12 sheets, 2 each of 5 designs.  But also 2 sheets filled with die cut shapes and images.  Love it!

• Not every lined-image needs to be colored, right?
• The bird is stamped with Pool Party ink.  Then I used the Wink of Stella Brush to move just a little bit a color around.  In person, it's the perfect touch for this card.

Birthday Card: Turtle Friends Bundle with New Ever Eden Designer Series Paper

Today I'm sharing a quick & cute Birthday Card made with the Turtle Friends Bundle.  The card also features a new (coming soon) product; Ever Eden Designer Series Paper.

Both of these products, Turtle Builder Punch and my preorder for the Ever Eden Designer Series Paper (DSP), arrived in the same week.  The minute I took a look at the back sides of the DSP, I knew I would be using it with the turtle.

How'd She DO That? Turtle Friends Birthday card

• Stamps/Bundles: Turtle Friends Bundle (Save 10% with Turtle Builder Punch)

  • Soft Succulent (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, scrap for Turtle punch) 
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4", scrap for hat) 
  • Ever Eden Designer Series Paper - coming 11/2  (1" x 4-1/8" speckled, 1-1/2" x 3-5/8" herringbone)
• Ink:  Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent
• Stampin' Write Markers:  2020-2022 In Color (Bumblebee), 2021-2023 In Color (Soft Succulent), Regals (Cherry Cobbler)
• Other:  Turtle Builder Punch, Matte Decorative Dots, Baker's Twine Basic Essentials, Paper Snips, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

• On scrap of Soft Succulent, stamp turtle outline image is stamped with Evening Evergreen and shell image with Soft Succulent.  Then cut with Turtle Builder Punch.
• The card needed some fun colors.  So I reached for the Matte Decorative Dots.  A great choice and my Host Code gift this month (see below).
• The dots also influenced the color of the birthday hat, which is colored with Stampin' Write Markers (listed above) and fussy cut with Paper Snips.

We're celebrating my husband's birthday this weekend and I think this will be a perfect card for him.  But I also think this would make for fun cards for kids.  My grandsons would love it!
