Tune In Bundle: Stay Tuned For An Important Message, Black Vinyl

Today I'm sharing a super cool card using the Tune In Bundle (extra 10 % off during June).

I wanted to give this card some 1950's razzle dazzle feel. The nifty television sets the vibe and with the added "black vinyl" it feels like a blast from the past.  See my DOstamping Tips below to learn how to create your own black vinyl.

How'd She DO That? Stay Tuned Black Vinyl card

• Stamps/Bundles: Tune In Bundle - includes dies (extra 10% off in June)
• Paper:
  • Shy Shamrock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, 3-1/2" square for TV stand stamp/die) 
  • Basic White (two of 4" x 5-1/4", 3-1/2" square - die cut TV stand outside only) 
  • Basic Black (2" x 4-1/4" - see tips below)
  • 2024-2026 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper (2" x 4")
• Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
• Other:   Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (10% off in June), Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, packing tape, pencil

DOstamping Tips:

• Create black "vinyl": cover 2" x 4-1/4" black piece with packing tape.  Be sure to firmly press down all areas.
  • Cut off a 1/2" x 4" piece
  • Die cut antennae and knobs 
• Adhere DSP & black vinyl strip to white panel, then adhere to folded card base.
• Stamp TV stand in center of Shy Shamrock square and die cut with both stand and screen shapes.  On screen piece, stamp Happy Birthday.
• Place Shy Shamrock TV stand die cut over white TV stand die cut (do not adhere yet) and use pencil to lightly trace screen.  Remove and stamp sentiment in penciled area.  Erase pencil line and cover sentiment area with packing tape.  Then adhere both together (ensuring room for antennae).  Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Use Glue Dots to adhere antennae and knob die cuts as shown.

• For inside white panel 
  • Stamp "star" image twice as shown.
  • Adhere TV screen greeting 
  • Adhere to inside of card

Today I'm sharing a card that was included in my DOstamping@Home Club packet last month.

How'd She DO That? Unbounded Beauty Just For You card

• Stamps/Bundles: Flowers of Beauty Bundle, Unbounded Love Bundle (both include dies) - extra 10% off in June
• Paper:
  • Petunia Pop (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base) 
  • Bubble Bath (3-5/8" x 4-1/2")
  • Basic White (3-3/8" x 4-1/4", scrap for scalloped oval die cut) 
  • Summer Splash (scrap for tall foliage die cut)
• Ink:  Petunia Pop, Summer Splash
• Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine - 10% off in June, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Petunia Pop 3/8" Bordered Ribbon, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Instructions:

• On white panel, use Flowers of Beauty to stamp and color as follows:  
  • Stamp flower in lower right corner twice without reinking with Petunia Pop ink
  • Immediately color with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush - use brush to pull color from the line image into the center areas.
  • Stamp leaves around flowers twice without reinking with Summer Splash ink.
  • Immediately color with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
  • Repeat in opposite corner.
• Adhere stamped panel to Bubble Bath panel
• Add Seal adhesive to the center of the panel and press the foliage die cut into it.  The sentiment will cover it up.
• Wrap ribbon around panel and tie in a knot on the left side.  Adhere to folded card base.
• Stamp sentiment from Unbounded Love on white scalloped oval die cut.  Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Step it up with Two-Step Stamping with Painted Lavender!

Today I'm sharing a simple stamping card featuring the 2-Step Painted Lavender stamp set.

If you're new to stamping, you might be wondering "what is 2-step stamping"?  Good question.

• 2-Step Stamping is when you use 2 or more images to make one complete image. 
• Choose your colors and you're ready to go.
• It's a great choice for beginner and experienced alike!
• See my DOstamping Tips below.

 

How'd She DO That? Perennial Lavender Thinking of You card

• Stamps/Bundles: Perennial Lavender, Layering Leaves
• Paper:
  • Highland Heather (11" x 4-1/4" card base, scrap for punch)
  • Basic White (two of 4" x 5-1/4", scrap for butterflies stamp & die cut) 
• Ink:  Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Shaded Spruce, Blackberry Bliss (for sentiment)
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Painted Lavender Dies, Blending Brushes, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping 2-Step Stamping Tips:

• For this card, I enlisted both 2-Step Stamping and Stamping Off techniques.
• I started with the tall fuller floral image, stamping with Highland Heather.  As you stamp, also stamp a 2nd-time without reinking to create dimensions (this is stamping off). 
• Continue stamping until you get the look you're going for.  NOTE:  I started stamping higher on the right edge and then brought the images downward as I worked towards the left.
• Using the skinny detailed floral image, stamp with Gorgeous Grape over the first images - stamping off on the stamped off images.  You'll find this is not a perfect alignment between the 2 images.   
• Finish stamping by filling in white areas with the leafy image using Shaded Spruce - stamping off as you go.
• Lastly - use a Blending Brush and Shaded Spruce ink and gently apply ink over the bottom area of the card - as shown.
  • TIP: Start by blending color in circles onto a scratch paper first and then onto your project. 
  • I always start with a really light touch first, then add more pressure if I want a deeper color - especially when using dark colors like Shaded Spruce.

 

• Optional:  Bring the outside in!
• Stamp in the lower left cover of the inside panel (repeating the steps listed above). 
• Stamp butterflies in the upper right corner.

Easy Packing Tape Technique with Country Flowers Bundle

Today's card features an easy Packing Tape Technique.  Along with the Country Flowers Bundle, it makes for a heartfelt sympathy card.

How'd She DO That? Unbounded Beauty Just For You card

  • Bubble Bath (3-5/8" x 4-1/2")
  • Basic White (3-3/8" x 4-1/4", scrap for scalloped oval die cut) 
  • Summer Splash (scrap for tall foliage die cut)
• Ink:  Petunia Pop, Summer Splash
• Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Petunia Pop 3/8" Bordered Ribbon, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Tips:

• For stamping and coloring, I recommend one image at a time.  
  • Stamp flower in lower right corner twice without reinking with Petunia Pop ink
  • Immediately color with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush - use brush to pull color from the line image into the center areas.
  • Stamp leaves around flowers twice without reinking with Summer Splash ink.
  • Immediately color with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
  • Repeat in opposite corner.
• For adhering the foliage die cut, just add Seal Adhesive in the center of the card and press the die cut into it.  The sentiment will cover it up.

Wishes All Around: Out-of-the-Box Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a fun out-of-the box idea using the Wishes All Around stamp set!

I was on a mission to use most every image in the Wishes All Around stamp set, which includes a "bonus" image!

Use the bonus image to create a fun circular background or even donuts!  Combine it with a lively and bright color combo for an out-of-the box Birthday card!

How'd She DO That? Heartfelt Hexagon Birthday card

• Stamps/Bundles: Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle (includes punch)
• Paper:
  • Highland Heather (11" x 4-1/4" card base) 
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4", scrap for punch)
• Ink:  Highland Heather, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party
• Other:  Glossy Dot Assortment, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

• To get a clean stamped image from bonus red rubber, you'll want to "rough" up the image a little bit.
• Use an eraser or fine grit sand paper in a circular motion.  Then clean the stamp and it's ready for ink!
• Using the stamping-off technique gives you a variety of cheerful colors for this card!  (stamp twice without reinking)
• The Heartfelt Hexagon sentiment is a fun way to say Happy Birthday!

This card was SO much fun to make!  Plus it's quick & cute - don't you think?

CASE of Monday: Wishes All Around Tree Wreath with Two-Tone Tip

Today I'm sharing another card I created using the Wishes All Around Bundle. 

I CASE'd the card found on pg 73 of the Stampin' Up! Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog.  My eye was drawn to the two-toned color trees (scroll down to see my tips for creating them).  

But a funny thing happened on the way to make this card...

• I wanted to use a different sentiment and wasn't sure if it would fit in the center of the wreath.
• So I stamped it on a scrap piece of white cardstock I had lying around and slid it under the wreath.
• Oh my gosh - I actually loved the look of the strip of cardstock vs. the square piece.  So I left it.  
• So when CASEing, go ahead and experiment.  It doesn't have to look exactly the same - it's just a place to start!

 

When you combine it with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder, it really captures the beauty of winter!

How'd She DO That? Wishes All Around Snowflake Wreath card

• Stamps/Bundles: Wishes All Around Bundle (includes dies)
• Paper:
  • Basic White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base, scrap for snowflake wreath die cut)
  • Basic White (1-3/4" x 4")
  • Garden Green & Soft Sea Foam (scraps for die cuts)
  • Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (4" x 5-1/4")
• Ink:  Berry Burst, Garden Green
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Sponge Daubers, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, 2023-2023 In Color Jute Trim, Stampin' Seal, Mini Glue Dots, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips: updated 11/21

• Create a two-toned look by inking up the tree wreath image with Berry Burst ink.  
• Stamp off onto a piece of scratch paper.
• Use a sponge dauber to add Berry Burst ink to every other tree. 
• Stamp onto large scrap of Basic White Thick cardstock and die cut.
• Voila...a two-toned tree wreath!

This card is a perfect way to express your joy and gratitude for the holiday season.

Create Your Own Background with Pick of the Patch!

For today's project, I'm sharing my last Pick of the Patch creation. 

This Thanksgiving card also features the Stamping Off Technique, which is perfect for creating your own stamped backgrounds.  I guess the Pick of the Patch stamp set is a good one for this technique.  Great for beginner and experienced stampers alike!  See my tips below.

How'd She DO That? Pick of the Patch Thanksgiving card

• Stamps: Pick of the Patch
• Paper:
  • Petal Pink (11" x 4-1/4" card base, 5/8" x 3-1/4" for sentiment)
  • Basic White (3-7/8" x 5-1/8") 
  • Crumb Cake (4" x 5-1/4") 
• Ink:  Gray Granite, Pumpkin Pie, Petal Pink, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake
• Other:   Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo Pack, Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Create Your Own Background Tips:

• I always start by choosing 3-5 coordinating ink colors.
• On a piece of scrap paper, I typically play around with those colors and the stamp set I've chosen, trying out different combinations.
• Once I'm satisfied with my color & image choices,  I start stamping.  ALWAYS start with the largest image and use the Stamping Off technique to get a variety of color shades. 
  1. Gourd = Gray Granite
  2. Pumpkin = Pumpkin Pie
  3. Small Pumpkin = Petal Pink
  4. Stems/Vines = Pecan Pie (use a sticky note as a "mask" near the top of each pumpkin to get smaller stems)
  5. Dots = Crumb Cake (I love that the Pick of the Patch stamp set came with what I call a "filler" image - perfect for filling some of the "white" spaces)
• To finish off the card, I used the Copper & Natural Ribbon (available week of October 23).  To substitute, you could use cardstock.  1" x 4" piece of Crumb Cake and  1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Pumpkin pie.
