Suite - Well Suited

Handsomely Suited Bundle: I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK!

I couldn't help myself...just had to go there with a Lumberjack card using the Handsomely  Suited Bundle.  Again, this was one of the cards I featured at my DOstamperSTARS virtual customer event in January.  To say the least...it was a hit!

Now - at first look, the card may seem complicated.  But after I lay it out for you, you'll find it's pretty straight forward.  And...you're gonna want to make one for the burly man in your life!

How'd She DO That? Lumberjack card

  • Stamps/Bundles: Buffalo Check (RETIRING), Handsomely Suited Bundle (156240) – includes the Suit & Tie Dies (SAVE 10%)
  • Paper:
    • Basic White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
    • Poppy Parade (two of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" for “shirt”,  collar and 2 suspender strips)
    • Bumblebee (scrap for 2 suspender strips)
    • Cajun Craze (scrap for 2 suspender clips)
    • Misty Moonlight (3/4" x 4-1/4", scrap for 2 suspender strips)
    • Basic Black and Silver Foil-RETIRING (scraps for buttons)
    • Basic White (scrap for smallest Stitched Shapes square die)
  • Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
  • Other:  Suit & Tie Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies (RETIRING), Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

Stampin’ Up! Handsomely Suited Bundle lumberjack card by Dawn Olchefske #dostamping #HowdSheDOthat #papercrafting #masculine-cDOstamping Tips:

  • Stamp both Poppy Parade pieces with Buffalo Check stamp set:
    • For the "shirt" piece:
      • measure down 1" from the top center, and then 1-3/8" from each side (mark with a pencil).  Use Paper Snips to cut a "V",
      • adhere shirt to folded card base.
    • Use the 2nd stamped piece:
      • die cut two suspender strips.  Adhere to center of shirt and up the left side of the "V" (trim off excess)
      • die cut collar and cut apart.  Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
    • For Misty Moonlight "pants":
      • Adhere piece to bottom of card.
      • Die cut two suspender strips - cut each down to 2-1/4".
      • Adhere to top of pants (overlapping in the center)
    • For buttons and suspenders:
      • Adhere buttons on shirt and pants with Mini Glue Dots.
      • Adhere suspenders to shirt (trim off excess at the top)
      • Adhere suspenders clips with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment on scrap of white and die cut with smallest Stitched Shapes square.  Adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I was giddy with delight when I finished this card.  I can't wait to give it to my Dad for Father's Day.

Don't have a "Lumber-Jack" person in your circle of friends/family?  Just change out the sentiment and make a Lumber-Jill to give to one of your girlfriends!

In the meantime, you might want to add to your shopping card; the Handsomely Suited Bundle, soon to be retired Buffalo Check stamp set and Stitched Shapes Dies (a retiring must-have).

Thank you for shopping with me!

Enjoy~Dawn O

Well Suited Suite: Sweet Mother's Day Card

Yesterday I shared something for Dad.  Today I'm sharing something for Mom using the Well Suited Suite.

I switch it up and used feminine colors, like found in the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper, to give the Handsomely Suited Bundle  a whole new look!

Well Suited Suite: The Basics

In January, several members of my DOstamperSTARS team hosted a virtual customer event.  We each featured either a suite or bundle during the event.  I chose was the Well Suited Suite.

Stampin’ Up! Handsomely Suited Bundle card by Dawn Olchefske #dostamping #HowdSheDOthat #papercrafting #masculine-p

Today's card shows-off the basic use of the Handsomely Suited Bundle.  Specifically the Suite & Tie Dies.  See below for card measurements and tips.

How'd She DO That? Well Suited Sweater card

  • Stamps/Bundles: Handsomely Suited Bundle (156240) – includes the Suit & Tie Dies (SAVE 10%)
  • Paper:
    • Basic Gray (11" x 4-1/4" card base and scrap for buttons die)
    • Smoky Slate (2-1/4” x 3-1/4” for “shirt”, scraps for dies; pocket, collar and long strip)
    • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4" for inside panel)
    • Well Suited Designer Series Paper (4" x 5-1/4" for sweater, scrap for bow tie die  )
  • Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
  • Other:  Suit & Tie Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

Stampin’ Up! Handsomely Suited Bundle card by Dawn Olchefske #dostamping #HowdSheDOthat #papercrafting #masculine-cu

DOstamping Tips:

  • Adhere the following die cut elements (from above) to the Smoky Slate “shirt” piece:
    • collar die cut with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals placed more towards the center area,
    • 2-3/4” of the long strip die cut (trim off excess),
    • bow tie die cut with Stampin’ Dimensional,
    • buttons with Mini Glue Dots.
  • For this card, use the “V” die and cut about 3” into the “sweater” DSP piece. Add adhesive on the backside along the “V” edge and adhere to shirt, under the collar.  Then adhere to folded card base.  Experiment with the V die.  You don't always have to use the entire area of the die.
  • Stamp sentiment on Smoky Slate pocket die cut and adhere to card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • And in no time at all, you're done!

I have to admit, I thought this suite might be limited.  But the more I played and created with it, the more I began to really enjoy it and could see all of the possibilities.  Over the next couple of weeks, I'll share the wide variety of projects I made (5-6 of them), both male and female cards!

In the meantime,  you might want to add the Well Suited Suite Collection to your shopping cart so you're ready to play with the Handsomely Suited Bundle.

Thank you for shopping with me!

Enjoy~Dawn O
