Cool Treats and Sprinkles Embellishments Dip Cone!

January 30, 2017

Today I'm sharing the yummy Cool Treats Bundle and Sprinkles Embellishments.

You're pretty cool, but the Cool Treats stamp set is just a little bit cooler. Try not to eat these delicious-looking stamps, even though you may be tempted. They only look yummy and may have you running to the ice cream parlor to quench your craving!

Cool Treats Dip Cone

Score 8" x 7" Peekaboo Peach card base in half at 3-1/2" (finished card size = 3-1/2" x 8", fits in a legal envelope)
Stamp "sprinkles" image (Cool Treats stamp set) with Watermelon Wonder ink all over 3-5/8" x 7-7/8" Watermelon Wonder cardstock. Adhere to card front.
Wrap white ribbon (Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack) around card front and tie in a bow (slide all the way to the right).
Stamp greeting with Watermelon Wonder ink on large scrap of Pool Party cardstock. Die cut with 2-3/4" scallop circle (Layering Circle Framelit Dies). Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp (3) "solid cone" shapes on Whisper White scraps with Crumb Cake Ink. Die cut with matching framelit (Frozen Treats Framelit Dies).
Die cut "ice cream" shape: 2 Whisper White, 1 Pool Party cardstock. Stamp the white shapes with Peekaboo Peach ink.
Add Fine Tip Glue "drizzle" near the top of the 3 ice cream shapes, then "dip" into the Sprinkles Embellishments. Let dry.
Adhere cones with SNAIL adhesive and ice cream with Stampin' Dimensionals.

142742 Sprinkles Embellishments:

Tiny sequins and plastic spheres, perfect for topping a stamped image.
Approximately 950 pieces: 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm
Colors: pearl white, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder

I have to admit, when I first got the Sprinkles Embellishments, I thought to myself, "other than shaker cards, how am I going to use these cute sprinkles?". My friend and STARS team member, Mackenzie Fuchs suggested the "dip" method...what a brilliant idea! These cones remind me of the "crunch cones" at Dairy Queen. I used to get them all the time when I was a kid...yum!

Oh my gosh...isn't this just a perfectly adorable Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper (129310) card? Just like my friend and DOstamperSTAR Laurie Zoellmer...perfectly adorable!

I've got a gorgeous By the Seashore Triple Time Stamping card to show you today. I received this card from fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Lisa Fennewald at the Stampin' Up! convention this past summer. It's simply gorgeous and a perfect example of Triple Time Stamping!

There are so many things I love about this card...

The Marina Mist monochromatic look
The Shimmer! Vanilla Shimmer Smooth Spritz is sprayed all over the card...gorgeous!

Controlfreaks Blog Tour: New Stampin' Up! Creations

Welcome to the Control Freaks June 2012 Tour (officially starts June 20th). We are thrilled to have you join us today. Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from fellow freaker, Lisa Martz's Blog

Our theme for this month is: "New Catalog Creations". Projects featuring stamp sets/accessories from the brand new Stampin' Up! 2012-2013 Annual Catalog. Here we go...

Papillon Potpourri

First on my list was Stampin' Up!'s NEW Elegant Butterfly Punch and matching stamp set, NEW Papillon Potpourri. For the butterfly - all I did was stamp on Pool Party with Pacific Point ink and punch...that's it. So easy!

The cute little doily is from the NEW Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlet...LOVE IT! It has three sizes of doilies - this one being the smallest. Add a birthday greeting for Petite Pairs, punched with 1-1/4" Circle Punch.

The pattern paper is from NEW International Bazaar Designer Series Paper. Colors are Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Pacific Point. I would have never thought of that combination and I love it!!

Happy Hour

Another first on my list was Stampin' Up!'s NEW Happy Hour stamp set. I can see so many uses for this set and can't wait to play with it some more.

For today, I made a tall glass of lemonade, made with NEW Summer Starfruit and a NEW Midnight Muse umbrella! Hmm...that sounds good. The doily is from the same Delicate Doilies Sizzlet I used on the first card. This is the largest size. The "banner" was cut with the Petal Cone Die.

ALL NEW Paper: Patio Party Designer Series Paper, 2012-2013 Patterns Stack DSP, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse

How cute is this? I used the same doily and wrapped it around a lemonade packet. Tied it off with the fun NEW 1/4" Stitched White Ribbon. Then finished off with the greeting from the NEW Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, cut with the NEW Bitty Banners Framlit.

Double Time Stamping: Stampin' Up! Bright Blossoms Sneak Peek

When I first saw the Bright Blossoms stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Summer Smooches Promotion, my first thought was..."those images are kind of small. Not generally my style." But after playing around with this adorable set, I guess my style can change and evolve. I can be open to that - he he!

Here's a Bright Blossoms card I made for my Control Freak swap a few weeks ago and also a card for quick thank you notes (you can never have too many thank you notes)!

Speaking of "thank you"...the greeting on this card is from my all-time favorite stamp set, Thank you Kindly (111700). It's a must-have stamp set and I think I shed a little tear when I saw it on the retired list.

Those cute little flags may look like Designer Series Paper (DSP), but they are not. I stamped them using a "Doubletime Stamping" trick!

What is doubletime stamping? Good question! Doubletime Stamping is a little trick I learned many years ago from a papercrafting magazine. It's when you stamp an entire sheet of cardstock and then cut it up to use on many cards. Kind of like creating your own DSP.

Dawn's DoubleTime Stamping Tips

Select a stamp set was several coordinating images (Bright Blossoms)
Select 2-4 coordinating ink colors (I chose three...Real Red, Lucky Limeade and Tempting Turquoise)
Stamp 8-1/2" x 11" piece of Whisper White cardstock starting with your largest image. Stamp all over the entire sheet.
Take the next largest stamp image and stamp that all over the enter sheet, filling in and around the previous images.
Take the last image (the smallest) and stamp all over the sheet filling in the "white space".
Experiment with how "full" and "close" your want your images. If you're using it to cut into small peices like my card above, you'll want your cardstock to be really full of images and less white space. If you're using it for background paper, you can have more white space.
Cut your stamped sheet into the number of pieces your need for your project and enjoy!

Remember: You can only get the Bright Blossoms stamp set until April 30th. Then it will be back in the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalog on June 1st!!
