PRODUCT SHARE UPDATES

I'm thrilled that you're so excited about my product shares.  I've been receiving wonderful feedback about them.  You especially love the great care I take in wrapping and packaging the ribbon and paper AND appreciate receiving them wrinkle free!  I've also been receiving  several questions about whether I have still availability to participate.  So I thought I would address them here. 

Common Questions and Answers about Dawn's Stampin' Up! Product Shares

Q. Are your paper & ribbon shares still going?
A. YES - they are still going strong. They continuously fill and start again. So if you've been hesitant to join because you're wondering about space, there is room for you! Feel free to join a share today!  (Don't forget...going on right now, there is special pricing for some of the paper shares  - August 2011 only!)

Q. How long will you be offering the 3x6 DSP Swatchbooks?
A. That is a good question. August may be the last month I'll offer the swatchbooks. They are a lot of work and I do need 16 participants to join to make each round work. I'm on my 3rd round and yes there are some openings. So get in now, before they're gone.

Q.  Will you be offering Holiday Mini Catalog shares?
A.  YES, absolutely!  With new Designer Series Paper, Ribbon and fun Embellishments, you can look forward to my Holiday Product Share coming September 1st.  More details will be posted the last week in August.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge: Beach Boys & Loads of Love

Today's DOstampingSTARS Stamp That Tune Thursday Challenge (#SSC055) is the BEACH BOYS!  It's summertime and what says summer better than the Beach Boys.  Check out one of their popular tunes on YouTube to get you in the mood.

 

We've been receiving questions about some of our challenges and what we're looking for.  The answer is...just have fun!  Really - whatever your interpretation of the inspiration photo is - that's what we're looking for.  For instance, for this week's challenge you can take inspiration from lots of different things:

1.  the Beach Boys themselves

2.  the Song Link

3.  the beach theme

4.  the yellow car

5.  the surf board

6.  the ocean

7.  the color scheme

For my card, I took inspiration from the car and used Stampin' Up!'s Loads of Love & Accessories stamp sets.  Oh my...it's been ages since this stamp set has touched an inkpad.  It was fun using it and reminded me of when I first had to have it.  I'm glad it's still available for purchase in the new catalog too!!

Grandsons, Summertime and Stampin' Up! Punch Art: Sandcastles

It's summertime...yeah!  For my grandsons, summertime means swimming and playing in the sand.  Which means...SANDCASTLES!

Look at these cute pictures of my grandsons Sam (2) and Max (4), that were taken on Memorial Day.  They are growing like weeds!

The picture of Max with his sandcastle got me thinking about a Sandcastle Punch Art card I made last year summer that I never got a chance to share.  When I found my photos, I discovered it uses the SPIRAL PUNCH (#119872) which is retiring!  Oh no...not another punch that is leaving us!

  Dawn's Punching Tip

To get the "sun" shape from the Scallop Circle Punch...
it's the same "double punch" technique that is used for getting a 10-petal flower from a 5-petal flower punch.

DOstamperSTARS Challenge: An American in Paris & Spinning Star

I love this week's DOstampSTARS Challenge, as it's a Musical Mania one!  And I love musicals.  Get a bowl of popcorn and your favorite soda.  Then curl up on the couch with a warm and fuzzy blanket.  There is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Especially if its raining.  Like it's been doing here in MN the past few days.  But I digress...

Today's challenge is An American in Paris.  Any movie Gene Kelly is in and I know I'm gonna love it!  Watch Gene Kelly on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvglHa_P9BA.  It should put you in the mood for today's challenge.  Or at the very least, it should put a smile on your face :)

I love the way this turned out.  But I'm afraid to say...I used punches that are retired.  But if you have any small and large star punches, this technqiue will work.  last year.  I just had to share anyways.

Beyond the Garden: Tangerine Tango or Pacific Point?

With so many colors to choose from that coordinate with the Stampin' Up! Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper, I can't make up my mind.  So I made two cards, same layout!

See the textured flowers in the background?  That's the Flower Garden Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (found in the 2011 Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog).

The scallop edge is done with the Tastefully Trim XL Die (one of my favorite Big Shot dies!).  Then finished off with some Whisper White Organza Ribbon (another one of my favorite ribbons!).

The greeting is from the stamp set, Fabulous Florets (123025w or 123027c)

Stampin' Up! Framed Tulips Squared Video

Last week I shared a square On the Grow card using Stampin' Up! Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Since then - I've received several inquiries on how I made it square instead of the standard rectangle.  Let me tell you - it's SO easy to do.  Be sure to check out the quick video.

Here's another example of the square Framed Tulips:

 

The flowers in the center are embossed using the new Stampin' Up! Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with vellum cardstock.  I used our neutral brads to attach it to the So Saffron scallop square (Scallop Squares Duo #120903) - no adhesive.

The "Hello" is from the Happy Greetings stamp set (2011 Summer Mini Catalog) and is punched with the newer small oval punch (#120908)

Isn't this cute?  What a wonderful way to say "Hello"!

Sweets for the Sweet & Stampin' Up! 2011 In Colors

OK -  now that you've seen the new Stampin' Up! 2011 In Colors, let's see some projects made with them!!
