Paper Pumpkin Alternatives: Notes From The Heart

Today I'm sharing four alternative ideas using the lovely Paper Pumpkin kit, Notes From the Heart

The December 2024 Notes From The Heart Paper Pumpkin kit was a lovely kit.  The cards were great.  But if you like to make your kits go even further, you can make these alternatives - almost doubling the number of cards you get from one kit.

 

DOstamping Tips:

• One of the tricks to making the cards to further is to cut the white scalloped folded card base in half and adhere it to a 1/4 sheet of cardstock (this is called a panel card).
• The other trick is to selectively fussy cut the floral dies cuts into two pieces.
• For the card above, I used a 2" x 4" piece of Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper to add visual interest.
• For the card below, I also trimmed down a fern die cut and added some Gold Twisted Thread (love this stuff!).

 

 

• For these two cards, I used Mossy Meadow 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" folded cardstock for the card bases.
• The both feature the leftover fussy cut from the floral die and also the white envelope kit sticker.
• For the card above, I used a 1" x 5-1/2" piece of Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and 3" x 4-1/4" Pretty in Pink to matte the sticker.
• For the card below, I used a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4 of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to matte the sticker.
• Both are feature a Gold Twisted Thread bow.

On to Paper Pumpkin Autumn Abundance alternate card ideas...

I've heard from a few of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers looking for additional ideas for using the "wood" card base.  I came up with a way to get 4 cards from a single card base.  Here's how:

• Cut card base in half on score line
  1. Use front of card to cut SIX strips of 7/8" x 4-1/4" (this will make two cards)
  2. Cut back of card in half to get TWO pieces of 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" (to make two cards)

DOstamping Tips:

• Arrange and adhere three strips to 4" x 5-1/4"  panel of Cajun Craze Cardstock.
• Wrap three time with Linen Thread and tie into a bow.  Then adhere to folded Crumb Cake card base.
• Stamp and adhere sentiment circle.

The inspiration for this layout came from page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.  

 

Use the back of the card pieces for this card...

DOstamping Tips:

• Adhere 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" card "back" piece to 3" x 4-1/2" Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Arrange and adhere leaf die cuts as shown.  Stamp sentiment on banner die cut and adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Tie a bow into Linen Thread and adhere with Glue dot.  Adhere completed panel to Cajun Craze folded card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For this card, I usde another layout from page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog  I'm really enjoying these CARD TEMPLATES!  I hope you are too.

DOstamping Tips:

• Arrange Cajun Craze DSP strip first, then grid pattern DSP and finish with Old Olive strip - as shown.
• The deer sticker is 2" and is matted perfectly with our 2-3/8" Circle Punch.
• For the "grateful heart" sticker, cut a small strip from the edge of a sheet of Stampin' Dimensionals and place on the overhanging right edge.

 

 

How'd She DO That? Give Thanks Sticker Sheet card

• Paper:
  • Crumb Cake (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base) 
  • Basic White (4" x 5-1/4") 
  • Pecan Pie (2-3/4" x 4-1/4")
  • Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper (2-1/4" x 3-1/4" to die cut largest Nested Essentials banner - then cut in half and adhere top and bottom pieces to card as shown)
  • Sticker Sheet (give thanks)
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Nested Essentials Die, Linen Thread, Faux Glass Dots , Stampin' Seal, Mini Glue Dots

 

 

 

The next set of three cards were made using our Note Cards & Envelopes.  I thought they would be a good size to show off the smaller stickers!

 

And of course, my first one is my favorite hedgehog.  She is SO cute...don't you think?

 

DOstamping Tips:

• I don't always like to stamp directly onto Note Cards, because I'll probably make some stamping mistakes (yes, I make mistakes).  So I prefer to stamp on a 3-3/4" x 4-7/8" piece of white, then add it to the note card when I'm done stamping.
• Start off by stamping two lines of the border image with Crumb Cake ink (from Autumn to Remember stamp set).
• To matte the sticker, I die cut Autumn to Remember Two-Toned 12" x 12" Cardstock (lighter side of Petal Pink) with the 2nd smallest Nested Essentials rectangle die.   I partial die cut it again (just at one end) to get the size I wanted, (approximately  1-1/2" x 1-3/4" die cut the long end).  
• Sentiment is from the Online Exclusive Changing Leaves Stamp Set

  • Iconic Celebrations 6x6 Designer Series Paper (scraps from 3 patterns - cut with Labeled With Love Punch)
• Ink:  Pecan Pie

• Choose 3 coordinating patterns from the Iconic Celebrations 6x6 Designer Series Paper
• Cut a shape from each pattern using the Labeled With Love Punch.
• Use scissors to cut punched DSP labels in half.  Arrange and adhere to white piece, as shown. 
• Adhere 3/8" strip of Mossy Meadow to 3/4" strip of Pecan Pie.  Then adhere to center of label panel, as shown.

Caring Leaves: You're Simply The Best!

Today I'm sharing a monochromatic card using the new 2024 Sep-Dec Mini Catalog stamp set called, Caring Leaves.

From my first look at the new 2024 Sep-Dec Mini Catalog, the Caring Leaves stamp set called to me (pg 59).  I liked the styling of the 2-step and it's simple sentiments.

 

How'd She DO That? Caring Leaves card

• Stamps: Caring Leaves
• Paper:
  • Pecan Pie (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, scrap for 1-3/4" Circle Punch) 
  • Basic White (3-3/4" x 5", scrap for 1-5/8" circle from Changing Leaves dies) 
  • Crumb Cake (3-7/8" x 5-1/8")
• Ink:  Pecan Pie
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder & Dies, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Pecan Pie 3/8" Center Stripe Ribbon, Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots, Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

• Using the Caring Leaves stamp set, stamp the leaves outline and center randomly all over the white panel.  Use Pecan Pie ink for both steps.
• The Online Exclusive Pecan Pie 3/8" Center Stripe Ribbon was a good choice to add texture to the card.
• Then finish off with my favorite, Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots.

DOstamping Tips:

• The key to this Stack & Cut card is selecting two coordinating patterns.  The To Market Designer Series Paper has a lot of mix & match possibilities!
  • Stack the two 3" x 4" patterns you select and cut them at the same time...diagonally from the lower left to the upper right.
  • Repeat with two 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" solid color coordinating cardstock panels, cutting diagonally the same way.  Adhere DSP & cardstock triangles together.
• On the 4" x 5-1/4" white panel, position your long sentiment diagonally in the center, using the lower left and upper right corners as a guide on where to stamp.  Then adhere your completed triangles in the corners as shown.
• Attach Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots from the To Market Suite Collection to finish off your card.
• Be sure to pop them in the mail to a couple of special people!

 

 

What first attracted me to the To Market Designer Series Paper was the colors...they really spoke to me.  However, I do have to admit, I'm wasn't really a fan of the shopping & vegetable patterns.  But after taking a closer look at the other side of these colorful papers - I LOVE what I found and I think you will too!
