It's Day #5, the last day of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week!

Today's card is black & white, with a pop of color. If you like quick & cute (QC) cards as much as I do, you're gonna enjoy today's card!

If you didn't notice, there are several black & white patterns in the Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The beauty of that is, you can pair it with any color you like. I paired today's card with Berry Burst - my current favorite color (yes current, as it does change from time to time.

Tropical Escape: Day #4 Tropical Treat Packaging!

It's Day #4 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week!

I'm really excited to share today's project with you...Tropical Treat Packaging! Talk about eye-catching...these will totally bring a smile to your face and mouth (even my hubby thought they were cute - he he)!

How'd She DO That? tips for Tropical Treat Packaging:

Stamps: Tropical Chic
Paper:
- Basic Black (2-1/4" x 9 scored at 8 1/2" for backer, plus 2-1/2" x 3/4" for greeting)
- Shaded Spruce (scrap for leaf dies)
- Granny Apple Green (scrap for leaf dies)
- Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (2" x 6" for belly band)
Ink: VersaMark
Heat Emboss: Ink greeting with Versamark ink, stamp on Basic Black greeting piece and cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder (remove excess). Then melt with Heat Tool.
Other: Big Shot, Tropical Thinlits Dies, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, 2" x 8" Cello Bag, Granny Apple Green 1/4" Textured Weave Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive (for wrap)
Non-SU: Dollar Tree Switzers Licorice Candy (Watermelon, Green Apple) and Stapler
Tips: see below

Treat Packaging Tips:

Insert 5 pieces of licorice into cello bag.
Place open end of the cello bag into the scored/folded end of backer piece and staple
Wrap belly band around the licorice and backer piece, adhere ends together on the back side with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Then decorate!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #303: Tropical Escape Day #3

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spolight Challenge - Product Suites" challenge.

Between the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog, there are lots of product suites to choose from...21 to be exact! But of course, I went with the Tropical Escape Suite.

For Day #3 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week, I added a little stamping onto the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (DSP), to make it my own.

How'd She DO That? tips for Tropical Escape card:

- Blushing Bride (4-1/2" x 11" card base)
- Shaded Spuce (2 1/4" x 2 3/4")
- Whisper White (5/8" x 4" greeting and scrap for flower)
- Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (4" x 5-1/4" black dots, 2"x 3" stripes)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Soft Sea Foam (for stamping leaves on DSP, Blushing Bride
Other: Big Shot, Tropical Thinlits Dies, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, Stampin' Dimensionals and Glue Dots

The black dotted patterned DSP felt like it needed a little "lift". The leaves were stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink - a nice subtle color to add a little texture. Don't be afraid of stamping on DSP to get your own custom look!

DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week: Day # 2 - Let the Paper Shine!

It's Day #2 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week!

Today's (3) cards lets the fabulous Tropical Escape 6x6 Designer Series Paper (DSP) shine!
These cards are Quick & Cute (QC) because the DSP does all the work for you.
Remember that paper you bought last month, it's OK to USE IT UP.

Features a fun mixed of leaves, floral and neutral patterns
Some patterns would even work for themes such as: birthday, baby and more

Quick Tip:

When using dies like the Tropical Thinlits, cut several dies at a time from one piece of cardstock
Use different colors, taking cues from the DSP coordinating colors
That's how the card #3 came together. I used previously cut shapes that I stored in a cello bag with the thinlits...smart, right?

DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week: Day #1 Leaves Window Die

It's time for another DOstamping Suite Week! This week I'll be sharing ideas using the Tropical Escape Suite (Annual Catalog pg 120-121).

When the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog was released, I was immediately drawn to the Tropical Escape Suite. Particularly the "leaves window" die...it really caught my eye. So that's what I'm showcasing to kick-off the week.

This quick and cute (QC) card comes together quickly.

How'd She DO That? tips for QC Tropical Chic Window card:

Stamps: Tropical Chic
Paper:
- Blushing Bride (4-1/4" x 11" card base)
- Shaded Spruce (4-1/4" x 3-1/2 for window die cut)
- Granny Apple Green (3-1/8" x 3-1/8" for window backing)
- Whisper White (3/4" x 2-1/2" for banner)
- Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (4-1/2" x 3/4" - pink dots)
Ink: Granny Apple Green
Other: Big Shot, Tropical Thinlits Dies, Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, Silver and Petal Pink Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals
Tip: When adhering the window die cut to the Granny Apple Green layer, keep the adhesive all the way to the edge of the window piece.

I have to say, this style of stamps and dies are not typically my style. But for some reason they spoke to me...so I had to have them! I'm glad I got them. It's nice to try something new and discover that you can have fun creating with them. I may have to break out of my style more often!
