Stampin' Up! Petite Petals: Punch Art Daffodils, Retired List Update, Last Day Free Shipping

QC: Another Great Year Belly Band Card with Tag Topper Punch with Video

I think you're gonna love today's QC card!  It's a Angled Tag Topper Belly Band card.  You only need a few supplies and you'll be done in no time at all.

I've featured this card at my last couple of events (STARS gathering and card buffet) and will be one of the projects in my upcoming Just Cards Buffet TO GO class available next week.  It's been a huge hit!

Stampin' Up! Fringe Scissors: Ombre Technique

Remember - the Ombre Technique I posted a few weeks ago?   Well today, I have another Ombre Technique I did for my February Stamping Club.  This time using different shades of cardstock and the new Fringe Scissors by Stampin' Up!  I paired this cool card with the greeting from the Million and One stamp set - I think is just the perfect match, don't you?  Be sure to watch the "How'd She DO That?" video below for tips for using the Fringe Scissors and completing this fabulous card!

I'm lovin' this card (inspired by Lydia Fiedler).  I feels  like a Flapper's dress from the Roaring 20's.  In fact, it reminds me of a a fringed dress that I enjoyed wearing to Halloween parties when I was a teenager.  To hear the "swish" of the fringe as I walked...I thought I was pretty dang cool.  Oh, the memories!

SAB Petal Parade: Make Your Own Pattern Paper Video

Just a note before starting...

If you haven't heard, I've moved, to Plymouth, MN...yay!!  I'm so excited. Took us several months to fnd a place and after looking at over 80 homes, we almost gave up.  But we did find a place and it's a good fit for us.  Family living space up and business space down just 6 steps!  I'm still getting settled in.  Electrician has been here adding light to the "classroom" and will be back next week for additional hallway and studio lights.  Office is usable (need a desk) and studio is coming together.  However - a space to create videos is a ways off.  So I created a makeshift space to do today's video.  Having said that - I think the lighting and sound are off.  But that will have to do for today. 

This was my "old" set up - I took over a closet.  Not sure what my new set up will look like, but hopefully it will get done in the next couple of weeks - crossing my fingers.  I'll share a photo when it's ready.

I got a lot of great feedback about the Sale-a-Bration Petal Parade card I posted a couple weeks back.  When I made that card - I actually stamped an entire sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock and cut it up in several pieces. This stamping "technique" is often referred to as double-time stamping or one-sheet wonder.  Another way to think about is - make your own pattern paper!

 Today's card is a QC (quick & cute) card using the leftover paper.  However - I also discovered that I can get 8 pieces for this card out of one stamped 8-1/2" x 11 cardstock - woohoo!  They measure 4" x 2-3/4".

 

Make Your Own Pattern Paper Tips

• Choose a color combo of three colors
• Start randomly stamping with largest image
• Then add stamping with next largest image
• Then finish stamping with smallest image - filling in "white space".
• Cut up to use on muliple cards

Thoughts & Prayers Reverse Masking Card with Video

Today's Thoughts and Prayers card was offered at my local Card Buffet class last night.  It was a very popular card, so I'm thinking the ladies really liked it.  I think that was because it was quick and easy, but also looked great!  Another reason this is such a nice card is because it's nice and flat, yet features a lot of visual texture.  Makes it great for mailing.

This card features a Reverse Masking Technique that I demonstrated for them.  Below are step by step instructions for you.  I also have a "How'd She DO That?" video. 

 The Bakers Twine is adhered with a glue dot.  Also comes in Gold & Silver (used here).

Reverse Masking Tip:  

• Create "reverse mask" using Stampin' Up! Oval Framelits (cut oval from piece of 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" cardstock (save oval cut out for a future project)
• Lay mask onto vanilla panel of same size
• Stamp Woodgrain image with Sahara Sand ink 
• Remove mask, then stamp tree & greeting images

NOTE: if you have trouble getting a full image inside the oval window, try using a Stampin' Pierce Mat which can help improve the stamping to get "inside the window" - see it demonstrated in the video below.

DSC#057: Lovely as a Tree, Painters Tape Technique Video

oday, I'm happy to share DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenges.  Each Thursday, we'll be sharing projects inspired by the weekly challenge photo or color combo.  This week is a Color My World color combo challenge, Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso & Daffodi Delight.
