You Had Me At...Hello Honey, Endless Birthday Wishes Masking Tip

Only 4 more days until the new Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 Annual Catalog (June 2nd)!  So over the next few days, I thought we would take a look at some of the new upcoming 2014-2016 In Colors.

If you're new to Stampin' Up!, you might be wondering...What are In Colors?

  • To keep our color selection fresh and new, each year Stampin' Up! introduces five "in" colors.
  • The colors are generally on trend (typically influence from fashion and home decor industries).
  • They stay for 2 years and then retire.
  • Ordering Tip: purchase the inkpad, ink refill and cardstock at the same time.  Then you don't have to worry about getting them during retirement time before they might sell out.

This year's In Colors are what I would consider "regal" tones, with a 70's twist.  Several of the colors reminds me of a 1970's kitchen (yellow, orange and green).  I know, I know...I'm dating myself.

Today, I'm featuring Hello Honey, which I've totally fallin' in love with..."you had me at Hello Honey!"  (My husband said, "no, you're not going to say that on your blog are you?"  My response..."yes, I just couldn't resist.")  I've paired it with a couple of new products (coming June 2nd) and the awesome must-have new Photopolymer Stamp Set, Endless Birthday Wishes (available now) for a QC card (quick & cute!)

Video: Stampin' Up! Flower Shop Bundle Mounting Tips

Been getting a few questions on how to mount Stampin' Up!'s Flower Shop stamp set for successful punching with the NEW Pansy Punch.  Good question!

Flower-Shop-Bundle

132727 Flower Shop Bundle (wood mount) $33.95
132726 Flower Shop Bundle (clear mount) $28.75

At first glance - the flower petals appear to be the same.  However, they are not.  On today's video, I show you which petal is slightly different and tips for mounting that can be used for both wood and clear mount.

The NEW Stampin' Trimmer is HERE!

I know many of you have been patiently waiting for Stampin' Up! NEW Stampin' Trimmer.  Well - it's here!!!

Stampin-Trimmer-NEW

Stampin'-Trimmer-DO

Stampin' Trimmer (#126889) features:

Introducing the new and improved Stampin' Trimmer! Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed  exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters AND because it was made by Stampin' Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!

Features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer

  • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2" ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4" (4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the  trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating  measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you  don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not  using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade  handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will  cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will  begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a  Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
  • See below for a quick video from Stampin' Up! Brian Pilling

More Stampin' Around Wheels: Answers to your Questions

Wow - I'm excited about the response to my first Stamping Basics Video: Stampin' Around Wheels, that I posted on Monday.  It seems that you're very interested in these kinds of videos.  I look forward to sharing more with you in the future.

In the meantime, I've received a few requests about Stampin' Around Wheels...

Q.  Can you share how to do a straight line?

A.  That's a good question.  Stampin' Up! used to carry a Stampin' Around Wheel Guide to aid in stamping a straight line.  Unfortunately - that product is retired.  However - if you have a ruler or other staight edge, that should do the trick.  Be sure to check out my previous video on how to use the Stampin' Around Wheel Guide to achieve straight lines.  Here's the link:

WATCH VIDEO:  Straight Lines with Stampin' Around Wheel Guide

Q.  Do you have a video showing how to use Stampin' Up!'s Builder Wheels?

A.  Actually, I do.  Check it out below:

Between these three videos, you'll probably learn most everything you'll need to know about Stampin' Up! Wheels!

Stamping Basics Video: Stampin' Around Wheels

I'm starting a new series of videos called, Stamping Basics.  I'm excited about these videos as they are for the new and experience stamper alike.

  • For the new stamper - they walk you through the basics of stamping, tools, cardmaking etc.
  • For the experienced stamper, they will be a great refresher on how to use products that you may not have used in awhile.

Stampin'-Around-Wheels

My first Stamping Basics Video is Stampin' Around Wheels.  I remember when I first started stamping, one of my favorite stamps was wheels.  Why?  Because they are easy to use and FUN!!  However, if you've never used Stampin' Around Wheels, you may not even know how to put them together or ink them, etc.  Hence...today's video.

I hope you enjoyed the first of many Stamping Basic Videos.
