Fresh Vintage My Way: Monochromatic!

If you've had a chance to look through the 2012 Sale-a-Bration Brochure, you've probably seen the gorgeous Fresh Vintage sample on page 6.  Gorgeous as it is, my first thought was "all that coloring - oh my".  I love the image, but was not thrilled about the time involved to color it with markers.

So...monochromatic card to the rescue!  I grabbed my In Color Pool Party Classic Ink and started stamping.  Here's what I came up with...

Pool-Party-Vintage-1

Dawn's Stamping Tip:
I stamped the image 3 times along the edge.  I started by stamping the center image upside down.  Then stamped the left and right images upside right to create a border.

For my next card, I wanted to "step-it-up" a little.  I added a little texture with the Square Lattice Texture Impressions Embossing Folder and a couple of Rhinestone Jewels for a little bling.  Take a look...

Sale-A-Bration Hostess Bundle Ideas

Well, I've had a little time to regroup since returning from the annual Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  Unfortunately I caught a little cold, so I haven't been very productive the last couple days.  However, today I'm feeling a little better and was able to get a few pictures of my some of my Leadership projects, which I know many of you have been waiting for.  So here you go...

First off, I just gotta tell you...I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Sale-a-Bration products in the Free Hostess Bundle (free with a $400 party).  This free bundle includes:  Fresh Vintage stamp set, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brads!  What more could a girl want?

Hostess-Bundle
As you'll see over the next few days, the Fresh Vintage stamp set is very versatile and coordinates with several Stampin' Up! punches.  The Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper is to die for.  Love the feeling of this paper.  For me, I immediately thought of patchwork quilts.  I'll share several ideas using the patchwork theme.  And of course, who doesn't like Ribbon and Brads.  Can't get enough of them!  With a $400 party, you'll get all three products for FREE!

Here are three quick and easy cards.  These are some of the cards I'll be offering for my Sale-a-Bration workshops.  All three use one of my favorite Stampin' Up! products, Note Cards and Envelopes (107311, 20 for only $5.95!).  These cards are sized at 5" x 3-1/2".  Perfect for a quick note.

Come to Bethlehem, Quick Tip Video For Clear Sharp Images

Do you sometimes get "splotchy" stamped images?  I sometimes do, especially with solid image stamps.  In today's Quick Tip Video, I share tips on getting clear, sharp images for successful stamping

Actually, this all started when I received a question from a reader...

Question:  How do you get such a clear sharp image from your stamps? I always have to make 3 or 4 attempts before I get an image that I'm proud to use. If you have a secret, are you willing to share? The quality of the SU stamps is so much better than others, but
I'm still having trouble. Thanks . . . Vivian

Answer:  That's a good question. But here are some suggestions...

1. I do make sure I ink up my stamp really good. (also make sure you your inkpads aren't drying out)
2. I hold my stamp on the paper/cardstock for awhile - like 3-4 seconds
3. For solid stamps - I lightly sand them before using for the first time. It seems to remove the manufacturing film and lets the rubber "grab" the ink better.

But sure enough, no sooner did I respond to her question, I too was having trouble getting a good image for this card.

Come-to-Bethlehem

I kept getting "splotchy" images.  It does seem like the larger, more solid the image is, it takes a little more finesse to get a good image.  Even with the tips above, you still might have some areas which would tempt you to toss it out.  On the video I share some tips for "saving" your splotchy images.  Get out your blender pens!
